I remember the first time I went to Hopetoun, man was I surprised. I expected some little 2 shop place, run down and empty. What a shock that was, although the money invested in the town by the BHP who started the big mine had a lot to do with it.

Yes, there was a lot of development in a very short time. The first time we went there many years ago it was a 2 shop place, a lot has changed since then.

@@ontheroadwithjohn That's all it used to be, a run down caravan park, pub & four square(IGA) (FoodLands) Our boat would come in to the Jetty for fuel. Far out..
