Thanks, the symbolism of the End of Ceremonies makes sense.

Lonnie Nutumya mom lived next to (east) Pat's place. They were best of friends and worked together years ago for Pete King Drywall on projects up on the rez. Pat taught Lonnie to carve Kachina Dolls. They were both Kachina Dancers in Ceremonies on Old Oriabi.

Ernest sold one of his Kachinas for $18K, and a French collector was on his way to buy more of Ernest's Kachina. If you visit my other videos I've recorded with Ernest, you will see an interview I did of him in K-Town on the rez. 3 parts

'The Spiders Came Up Through the Floor', is how his best friend Lonnie told me. When I asked him how Pat died. 'Something went wrong at a Dance', Lonnie told me. If you go to my blog (Google; RD47blog) you will see some pics of Patrick. I don't believe Patrick had any children, so I'm not sure who you would give his Kachina to. I have one of Lonnie's Kachinas and a painting by him.

I meet jr. 2 summers ago, Lonnie had just had a stroke. Lonnie was never the same after Pat's death. There is a pic of Lonnie and me on my blog. And he's in one of my early vids from Hopi Land. I'm 66 and never heard the story of the mask before. I'm sure I must of meet Rich and Earl at the Heard, if they ever attended the Hopi Carvers event at the Heard. Did you listen to any of my interviews with Ernest Honanie and Ahkima Honyumptewa on my YT channel? They both provided much Hopi info.

I've seen Apache and Navajo try and make Kachina Dolls but they cannot duplicate the Hopi ones. I have 3 Kachina Doll, one I bought on Walpi years ago and one from Old Oriabi. I usually go up to the Hopi rez every summer and make videos. Check them out on here.

I think its out of respect for Hopi that Navajo/Apache intentionally make their art more of block figures and wrong colors. It might look more of a Yeibicheii or Crown dancer than that of Hopi deities.
