I know Roanna! When we visited Walpi she and her daughter Val invited us to stay in their home and were beyond generous to my husband and I. They showed us how to collect clay and sculpt with it, they cooked us fry bread and beans that were grown by their neighbor and taught us many things about their beautiful culture. I think about my experience with her family all the time it's so nice to see her face and hear her voice again :)

Honestly as a Hopi, grown up in a traditional home Hopi never included powwow as our traditional culture, just recently our younger males started singing and joining in groups and forming their own groups, I am not saying that it's bad that Hopi practice it I am just stating it was never in our history. I feel that nowadays powwow world is a multicultural tradition for some people, and many people from many places and tribes consider it their traditions.

Be proud of your wonderful heritage. The world is at a crossroads and Native people have a heritage that can help for a positive change. White's don't have perspective. I'd have to say, Chinese also don't have perspective.

Standing on the roof looking down into the square... With my hands i open the water like a set of curtains,. I have never before seen anything so beautiful. Or felt the drum beat of my heart in such a way ... They asked me was it going to rain.....
