The thing you said about the exposed threads being potentially damaged while in normal use made me realize why Surefire likely made such an unusual attachment system. They aren't the only ones to make a thread-less attachment system, but it seems to be a military specific requirement. Now I know why.

Many of us were clamoring for a common mount back during the QD and DB wars of the early 2000's. I still remember folks justifying every purchase with "you buy the best because it's a lifetime investment", only to turn around and buy the next hotness 6 months later that was completely incompatible with their other stuff...

AAC question - do folks recommend getting old AAC 762SD, 762SD-N6 cans modified to the pose new Plan B systems? AAC wants a LOT of money to convert (but say that restores your warranty). 3rd party options are far cheaper. But with 3 cans and dozens of AAC 51-T mounts, the total cost to move away from the inferior 51 toothed system is prohibitive!

QD designs are nice but when you are runnin least 99% of time supressed then i like simplicy of direct threaded supressor. Also to make matter even more simple in here i can get supressor for every gun for just walking to store. So it removes need to swap one supressor around of multiple guns because all which have threads already have their own supressor.

@@Hoplopfheil I just watched that video, thanks. Doesn’t work on pistols too because it takes the place of the booster. It’s a PCC only mounting solution. I have a MP5 in .22lr (authorized réplica by Walther, not a real H&K) with a tri-lug definitely not getting a compatible supressor just for it. I’ll just install the adapter to direct threads that Walther sells for it (I got one on my .22lr PPK/S and they are compatible). I’m entertaining the idea of getting a .223 rated can (I own an AR) and use it with my .22lr too. Is that a bad idea? As an airsoft player, it's irritating seeing how nice the realsteal boys have it with this stuff. Threads are never to any real spec, always too short, too long, slightly off pitch, uneven crowns, etc. My P90 has a barrel too long for the can so it's just sticking out an inch, but still touches the bottom side of the suppressor muzzle. I'm always worried about jamming my M4 into a barrier or the dirt at some point and now my bbs are just filling up the inside of my can. Well, at least I'm too poor to afford a real one, so I won't have to worry about a real baffle strike lol

Interesting that Hop has had OSS/Huxwrx cans stick so aggressively after a mag (whether literal or hyperbolic). I can't say that I've had one stick any worse than needing two hands to remove mine. Those guys have been pretty legit to me for their shipping speed and customer service. Can't testify though on their muzzle devices as I'm in the ASR system.

Honestly the best muzzle devices for this mounting solution! I have both the 6315rf and 3P15. And they do exactly what forward controls and revival defense designed them to do. Mitigate flash and direct muzzle blast. While mounting a can. I would suggest a thread protector like HOP if playing exposed.

Nice review! We agree, the Plan B pattern taper mount is a fantastic mounting system. Locks up securely, its lightweight, and compact.

I just got an OCL Polonium K and I'm using Rearden mounts and when i unthread the suppressor the hub mount tends to stick to the muzzle device and unthread itself from the suppressor. Is there anything I can do to prevent this? Kinda makes me nervous. Should I add a small dab of rocksett to the hub mount?
@benjaminfish7602
@benjaminfish7602 5 ай бұрын
@@armorers_wrenchYes, definitely Rocksett and torque according to Rearden specs.
@armorers_wrench

@@benjaminfish7602 Alright. Prior to my approval I only had access to the can at an indoor range so I was pretty limited on what I could do. Probably the torque alone will take care of this issue. I noticed in the box they have a little vice block to put the suppressor in a vice(I assume) and I gots me a good torque wrench and some high temp thread locker.

Wish you would get with YHM and have them ship the SRX adapters with the cans.... Just bought a Resonator R2 and its being shipped with phantom QD... going to have to fork over 200 more bucks for new mount/muzzle device.

@@MannElite200? The mounts and adapter can be found for 65ish bucks a piece at some places or 77 a piece at silencershop. I do agree that YHM should ship their cans with the Srx tho

I just switched from ASR to Rearden / Plan B like a month ago. It is SO much lighter. Especially with the titanium adapter. I have the Atlas on my main suppressor but I'm thinking about picking up the Revival Defense titanium adapter for my other can. It's a little lower profile and has slots to use a castle nut wrench to tighten it down. I have a few Rearden muzzle devices but my favorite is the 3P15 from revival defense. It's a 2 inch three prong and it's awesome. They also make an A2 style muzzle device that's compatible with it
