So my old man, who soloed a J-3 April 20, 1955, and retired NWA offn the 74' in 1996 with 25k hrs flying, really enjoys watching your videos, Joe. He's 87, just chillin in the bed mostly now. We just hit play and reminisce about the old days flying with Narco Superhomers, DC-7's, Baroning, 74's, 7-oh's, stews, and stick-n-rudder. Thanks brother.

I like that you show the view out front with the panel, a lot just show a video looking back at them while they fly it!

Yeah, I figure the last thing anyone wants to see is a person talking. Should be all about the flying!

Yes! I like feeling like I’m in the pilot seat. I love these videos of yours. Looking forward to some about this length with leaves on the trees.

Great day for puddle jumping ! Fairly high stratus cloud layer, light breeze ( judging by the wind socks ), good visibility, --- indeed a good recipe for jumping in the Cub and leaving earthly cares aside ! Thanks for sharing this with us. Great flying !!! Looks like the Cub is a bit thirsty, I know you are a heck of a lot more experienced in flying than I, but I actually have had that wire fuel indicator stick from an imperfection and after a flight I went to fill it up and found that the wire was stuck at a higher level than the float would have shown and I was very very low on fuel----that did get my attention. Just throwing that out there, I know you are careful.

It’s nice to be able to see the tips of your shoes so I can see your rudder inputs.

Nice video, the wx finally let me out today. Old airplanes still fly like they did when they were new. Ours Is 73. Still Flys like a Champ......but it's a Sedan. Good work on the videos, I look forward to every one.

Joe I really enjoyed the ride! Love your J-3 flights. I like your home airport as well. Nice having good size fields on both ends. I remember flying the J-3 with my brother. If I was flying he'd pull the power back out if nowhere and say "land it". If I hesitated to clear a side and make a move quickly...he was pissed. He wanted me to have a place picked out at all times. Good training. He'd usually let me get well set up, and then call for the power up and go. One time he let me get super low...I wondered "Is he going to make me actually land?" He called his airplane and went around pretty late. He wanted to see if I noticed the power lines going through the middle of the field. I never saw them. Another really valuable lesson. I miss full scale flying, but it is nice experiencing it through guys like you.

Just found the channel and am happy that it popped up. while interested in flying and always had the urge to get a license myself I’m in no way qualified to comment on any of the technicalities but some of these landings seemed incredibly challenging and not super stabilized, but I assume that’s what you have to learn when flying these small planes at small airstrips? Also it’s awesome that there’s this many places to land in your local area. But perhaps that’s just standard in the US to have it like that. 👍
