After leaving Funk Volume, Hopsin sits on the Vlad couch to discuss his fall out with co-founder Damien Ritter, his relationship with his former labelmates and how the success of the label made him a millionaire.
Hopsin starts off the conversation speaking about his $500K battle rap challenge and how he, Dizzy Wright, and Jarren Benton fared against Crooked I's Horseshoe Gang. Unlike Horseshoe's version of the story where they quickly admit to killing Funk Volume, Hop denies that occurrence. He goes on to share a humorous anecdote about how a picture with a fan made Crooked press him, and how he nicely found a way to avoid those problems. While on the topic of lyricism Vlad and Hop go back and forth on whether 2 Chainz is a lyricist, as it pertains to a comment the "No Words" rapper made in 2013 targeting Atlanta rappers and the emergence of trap music.
Hopsin also goes in depth on his critique of Drake's ghostwriting scandal. Because he believes having someone write you lyrics is "not hip-hop," Hopsin says he likes the idea of Drake and his music, but he can't respect it. The conversation rounds out as Hopsin talks about his growth and maturity, and how he garner buzz for dissing Kendrick and Kanye. He affirms that he is unapologetic for trolling rappers in the past.

Damn. This interviewer is sitting down with a brilliant artist and businessman--a modern genius--and spends half the interview interrupting him and giving feedback to everything said without adding any real insight. Contradicting him, finding lame counter arguments, and generally wasting time rather than letting Hop just open up.

Why it seem like he was against Hop in the whole interview? Popular opinion doesn't have to be your opinion. Vlad is basically saying that it doesn't matter who actually creates anything he just cares for the face that the industry puts out...Now how does that make sense? Too many people just accept what everyone tells them they should like, there's no respect for actual creativity these days..

His ideology is way up there. everything he said in this interview makes absolute sense. ignorance is the only reason "drake fans" and "kodak fans" dont like hopsin. step out of your box and really grasp the truth this man is sending. Vlad you put on some good ass interviews, but i think you're far too bias in alot of your comments. The J. Cole subject was spot on though. Great interview man.

this is a good interview that shows someone who has grown up with hip hop, lived through it and then got successful and then someone who I guess he's in it because of who he knows. I just started watching VladTV and I appreciate the "investigative journalism" because i'm curious about the truth of music and culture and the industry's effects on it but I can't help but see a common theme of Vlad spitting his version of a truth (a lot of it through what seems like instigation - esp. in this interview) and everyone he interviews checking him on what's really up. The concept of "layers" of truth of image, credibility, music and success keep coming up and I love it when his guests hit him with the deeper look of what I personally see as surface observations and analysis. Help me out here?

Hopsin works VERY hard this dude is sooo lyrically talented writes, produces and shreds freestyles. Eminem put him in that tier of lyrical shredders. Sucks F.V. broke up but this happens when large amounts of $ are involved and egos get in the way. Always surround urself with positive people who genuinely love u n want wuts best 4 you. That's with everything in life positivity and success breed more positivity and success.

This was a really good interview. Until they spent 12 minutes trying to defend rappers using ghost writers. A) It's an interview. You're personal opinion doesn't matter.
