Im back here 12 years later from seeing this video that was once click bait titled as “Black Eminem?“ This was so different than anything else I had ever heard before. I was completely mind blown by the entire song, and today it still stands as it’s own thing. Seeing hop on the cover of XXL magazine soon after (as a young teenager) made me a lifelong fan. I know no one in the main part of the comments trully lashed out at Hop and this isn't a new video, but having listened to Hop for a long time, I can say IMO (so people dont jump me acting like i am stating some fact from my ass.) He has some very skilled word play that buries alot of hidden messages that all the trash talker mainstream lovers are way to uneducated to notice. It's sad when word play and the rap industry have gone so far downhill that people can't understand even Hop's simplest word plays. This song had my wife and I rolling with some of the word play. Oh well. Guess the mainstream can't handle actual rap anymore. 2Pac and the others would be rolling in their graves. Especially 2pac who said "A woman brought you into this world what makes you think you have the right to hit one?"

I think I know why people hate on Hopsin: his production is low key. Its meant to be. You aint gonna hear any sub or trap kicks in his music. You're not gonna hear $2 million worth of production in backup vocals, orchestras, etc. But what you are going to hear is a story and seamless rap that so uncommon nowadays. Thats where the schism lies. All the haters of Hopsin listen to rap for the bounce not the words. They dont understand and can't comprehend a rap song without compressed bass and kicks and think its 'lame'. They dont know RAP.

Why do people keep saying that Hopsin is stealing Eminem's flow. Hopsin has said in interviews that he was influenced by early eminem as well as other rappers, the same way eminem admits having a similar flow to some of his influences because thats what influences are. you guys don't seem to realize eminem is just really fucking old and there's a new young generation of rappers now that grew up listening to these old rappers who are still in the game like Jay-Z, Dr. Dre and Eminem.

thereaISIimShady Yeah...Hopsin is dope for sure but. He does sound way too much like Eminem. This song is a perfect example. The chorus sounds exactly like something old em would do. It is cool to get your influences and every artist has them however, as an artist I feel one should be honest with themselves.
