Check the full patch notes from The Isle official Discord, here's a few important changes that didn't get in the video: - Deino ability to drag bigger targets if both are in water (I will make a video later if I manage to grow deino on horde test or after the update releases) - DLSS and FSR - Bite cooldowns reduced - Omni/Troodon can pounce from behind again - Adjusted fall damage (Also I wasn't able to check the whole map for changes so there are more than what I showed)

The tall tree cluster in Highlands is gonna give herrera’s such a good time. Though it is kinda compensated though, being that you can easily spot a herrera in them. Theres barely any leaves 🍃

@@Some1-2 They can rest untop of those trees can’t they? I remember playing as an herrera and able to rest at the very top of those tall trees at northwest. May be a little annoying to get it at times but your able to.

Highlands looks much more interesting. Lighting during rain is 100000x better and actually playable thank fuck. How has night with and without nightvision been on the branch? Btw love the frequent before/after comparisons in your vids, thanks for posting this

In my opinion this is a great update outside of the major performance issues, which are probably caused by them disabling TSR since the game looks quite a lot better too, but lowering the settings don't help with the fps so I dunno, also FSR doesn't work.

Oh good, it's not just me then... I usually run the Isle at a pretty smooth capped 60fps, but when I tried the hordetesting branch, at some points it would plummet and I'd be playing a slideshow simulation at around 10 fps. :/

@@MadTawnyOwlet Yea on public branch I get around 60 but on hordetesting I average around 30fps, when I was playing a few hours ago it dropped all the way to 3 so I had to log out.

Sometimes clicking apply on graphics settings helps but it's still lower than in the live branch

I'm so glad they fixed the bad weather lighting. Having to use night vision all day in a storm was ridiculous. Such a beautiful map you never got to see.

I'm really looking forward to changes to the Pteranodon's stamina cost. After taking off from the ground above the trees, you have almost no stamina left. It's more like a big long jump than a flight. It would be great to add air flow mechanics, but it's too much work.

I don't know if you played or are just going off the video, but when you play, they are not as dark as here. I don't have my night vision on except at night now.

@@ScottM436 there is some kind of eye adaptation effect already, a.k.a when you look into pitch black it gets brighter a bit but still way too dark. Heavy rains are now reasonably dark and kinda nice but still, going with NV on during the day in forest is huge advantage and that is a bit shame. I would love to have NV completely turned off during nice days.

@@Bleghspread, I agree. My friends and I were talking the other day, and I wish there was a way for NV to be disabled during the day. It would be darker, but it would be darker for everyone. Setting up an ambush in the woods early in the morning would be a good strategy.

a change in the skin editor you missed (kinda insignificant but still): the box around / below the color pickers now has a blue/green grid on it! edit: also, they added new AI models and calls: baby deer and goats, and male deer (MAYBE male goats but I haven't seen those). and also apparently juvenile dinosaurs as AI but I haven't run into those yet

Hello! Thank you for the video. Hordetesting seems promising. By the way, I wanted to ask. How much fps do you get in areas with a lot of bodies? Does the game still lag around them?

On average I get lower fps on horde testing but that might be due to new lighting. I haven't been around so many bodies or players that my fps would drop. Also my pc is on the higher end so I wouldn't be the first one to notice nor have I had that happened on the live branch either

i love the night sky with the blue reflected clouds and the stars are no longer stretched, they look how they should. i heard there was an eclipse too at one point in the test, i dont know if its true or not

It's supposed to make the body rot faster but I'm not quite sure how long it takes since I just ate the body a minute after because the vomiting emptied my stomach and diet slots with it

In the most recent patch they decreased the vomit value so it depletes the stomach only by 20%. So perhaps it's more viable now

vomiting on corpses makes them rot quicker, and ceratos get more bile from eating rotten corpses. also, other animals can't eat rotten stuff, so puking on a corpse could be a way of "claiming" that corpse for yourself

@@jch8175 It's a new realistic way of lighting that comes with Unreal Engine 5 by default, you need a really good graphics card to run it though so I don't reccomend enabling it unless you have a high end graphics card. But if you want to, you can find it in the settings in hordetesting branch.

I asked for it. It makes sense... people should be more aware of their surroundings when eating/drinking etc. If they get ambushed from behind well.. thats the game. Its already hard to ambush people in this game cuz of loud footsteps etc why make it harder?
