Horizon Forbidden West: How to fix Traps on PC

In the PC version of Forbidden West, traps are bugged. They do not reliably cause damage, e.g. if they are triggered by an arrow. This is particularly annoying in the arena, where you often have to rely on the high damage of these traps.
There are rumors (thanks to Arktix and others for mentioning this!) that this has something to do with the frame rate. I tried it out - and it actually works!
In this video I show how Elite Shock Traps reliably cause damage when the frame rate (or VSync) is limited to 30. It may look like a flipbook, but working traps make it much easier to survive in the arena.
The exact settings may differ for other graphics cards or monitors. My hardware: NVidia RTX 4070, 60Hz monitor.
Edit: Still bugged with Patch 1.5 from June, 27.
