Thanks for your input. So far until now there has been almost no real reviews or explanations as to how well this flys and how the functions of the flight controller works. I think this will be my Christmas gift to myself.👍

I typed it wrong in my one comment saying that I had a DX6 Gen 2 I actually have a DX8 Gen 2 looks like I might need to upgrade to a newer radio. Great flying like always! I'm a few years older than you and basically just starting even though I started about 15 years ago with a raptor .30 and a Blade 400 I think but once I flew the Raptor .30 into my leg I quit flying after that and just started again.

Your DX8 Gen 2 will work if you update it to the latest firmware. Page 11 in the 330s manual states the radios you can use. DX6 gen 2, DX7 gen 2, DX8 gen 2, DX9, IX12, and IX20

I bought this Heli last week and love it. I need to get an ix12 so i can tinker with the PID parameters. Using a Dx9 currently.

All you need to do is update your DX9 to the latest firmware with your SD card. On page 11 in the 330s manual says you can use a DX6gen2, Dx7g2,DX9,IX12, and IX20. All you need is the helicopter now. hehehe

The manual is very easy. Look at the table and enter the parameters. Pretty simple. Standard helicopter model, assign gear channel to Flightmode switch. Set the throttle and the pitch curves. Simple.

Your videos are spectacular. I am thinking about getting this helicopter but I only have a Dx6i. Would I need to upgrade to a fancy radio? The manual says I can fly with the Dx6i but don't have it specifically listed in the charts. What do you think? Thanks.

You need at least a DX6gen2, DX7gen2, DX8gen2, DX9, IX12, or IX20. Page 11 in the 330s manual states that you can get Forward programming in those radios with the latest firmware update.

4:08 on Flight modes explanation video. It won't go past about 30 degrees roll or pitch. Centers automatically.

In your honest opinion, if you have some experience, some that is lol with these safe stability features they now have that they didn’t when I was once in it 10 yrs back would the 330s provide enough stability in that mode to be able get Back into flying or no? My only issue in the day was no being able to take off or land bc they would want to flip or roll right from the start or be all over when trying to land. But then again they did NOT have these features they do now which I think would make the experience better this go around. Idk. Just let me know pls. Thanks for you vids.

keith phillips S mode on Horizons stuff makes them fly almost as easy as a quadcopter.

That’s my problem I’m just now 46 years old and it’s hard for me to see the smaller helicopter’s that’s why I like my raptor 30and 90 I had since I was 19 years old lol I have the 50 and the harobo shuttle my mom got me at a yard sale when I was 14 years old lol it still runs and fly’s to I take it up sometime’s lol

I had a Raptor 30 and 50 too. I loved that old purple and white heli. I used to fly it at the park and spray nitro all over the place when park rangers and police were like cowboys that just wanted to see it fly. There were no bugs in that park. haha. But yes, I can't see with my glasses, or without them. I fly by feel..or something. Ray Charles
