Also Dirt did you notice that another Sony-owned IP is coming to a non-PlayStation console? Freedom Wars is being remastered for Nintendo Switch; the Freedom Wars IP is still owned by Sony and the game was co-developed by Japan Studio, and yet Sony is letting it be ported to Switch, just like with Lego Horizon. Instead of remastering a game that still looks good and is available on current platforms they should do Master Chief Collection style packages of their older game, and/or Dead Space/Resident Evil style remakes of said games. Sony has a vast library of games that are sadly stuck on previous console generations. Thankfully, emulation allows them to be preserved (I’ve been playing some PS3 games on my gaming laptop and it’s been pretty fun).

Dirt, I think when we look back in the future, this gen will be characterized by gaming companies as the “worst to generation to lose” in terms of establishing reoccurring, sustainable revenue. Right now Microsoft is leading with turn-key GAAS games (ABK & Bethesda titles), original GAAS games (Sea of Thieves, Grounded, etc.), Gamepass (console, PC, cloud), and, as much as some don’t like it, individual game sales on other platforms. Phil admitted that ABK accelerated their plans to achieve goals. They are set up for future success, including R&D investment, single-player experiences & 3rd party deals for Gamepass. PlayStation can’t keep up with rising costs, largely due to their failing GAAS initiative. They have to extract as much money as possible from existing revenue streams to grow at their current rate (more hardware, upgrade fees, game remasters/remakes, small games & DLC modes, diluting & increasing fees on services). Bungie issues, concord failure, losing cod marketing etc. has set them back years. I believe a we’ll see the effects of all this in due time, probably next gen.. once all their issues percolates to the casual audience & the media takes the kid gloves off. Similar with federal tax policies, it’s all on a delay, so to speak, you typically see the impact during a subsequent administration; in this case, next generation. At this point, I *want* the Ponies to keep blaming Xbox for Sony's failures. I want to see how far Sony can bleed these suckers dry before they finally snap.
