These videos are perfect. It’s been years since I played (and platinumed) HZD. Looking to refamiliarize myself with the lore and story in preparation for FW. But no one else is going into the nooks and crannies like you. No one else is covering the side stories like this. Keep up the great work!

I must admit I never did the hunting grounds because I wasn't confident enough that I could do them well. Such a pity that such a great story was hidden behind something optional

Me too. I've played the game twice, but never bothered with the Hunters Lodge challenges - I just can't do anything with a strict time limit!

Honestly, as someone who platinumed HZD, I gotta say that the hunter’s lodge quests and the time trials themselves are absolutely thrilling. Yes, they require repeated attempts, so depending on how much free time you have in your life, it might not feel worth it. However nothing else in the game requires you to truly master the controls in the same way, or to think as creatively on the fly as the hunter’s lodge challenges. Caveat being, I looked up some guides on KZbin for the harder ones 😅 If you have the interest at all, they’re well worth the repeated attempts, as few other aspects of the game feel as satisfying to beat once you finally get that blazing sun. Lastly, I totally bailed on going for the blazing sun In the Frozen Wilds DLC. Good lord, that is just pure masochism.

it is definitely a shame, i nearly did the same, because you only have to gain access to the lodge and then none of that story/quest is about the hunting grounds any more (unless you want to do the optional weapons of the hunting lodge quest in which you are rewarded unique weapons for completing the trials)

I kept wondering who Talanah was after your repeated mentions, wondering how I could have done every sidequest in sight and never met her in my playthrough. Only now do I realise it's because she was hidden behind the only absolutely terrible thing in this game, the hunting grounds. Uuuuugh. Your video did make me think for a moment that maybe I should go do them so I can see this cool character in action, but they are so bad. As always, you are thorough and lovely to listen to and you don't pull your punches on characters who are dicks, so I'm fine with this being all of my Hunter's Lodge knowledge.

Those videos reminding Zero Dawn story are sooo great! I really hope to learn more about Talanah in Forbidden West. Could it be possible that black-armored machines will be part of Forbidden West plot? "Replacing" the Corrupted machines from Zero Dawn and Daemonic machines from Frozen Wild as the new "enhanced" version of machines?

I hope Talana has a much more active role in Aloy in the 3rd game. It would have been nice to have her in the second game as an active participant in your base. I realize she has her own duties. But those closest to Aloy know that if she fails everyone dies.

Horzion zero dawn is one of the few PS4 games that I have got the platinum trophy for. The lore and Alloy of course is why I spent the time to get said trophy. These lore videos are brilliant as I am always eager to learn more about the world of Horzion zero Dawn epascilly with Forbidden West with just over two weeks left until it comes out 😁. I do wonder if zoe has anymore lore videos in the pipeline 🤔?

She's tied to side content in Zero Dawn & appears in a comic. I suspect she won't play that big of a role in Forbidden West simply due to needing to be introduced to people who only played the main quest in the first game - probably a continuation of her story will be tied to similar "hunters guild" side content? Otherwise I think they'll struggle to switch her into being part of the main story without either providing some kind of recap / reintroducing her.

In my interview with the writers they said that she's introduced in such a way that you don't have to know her entire backstory to understand who she is, so I think there's still space for her to be a decent part of the game.

It's isn't just me that is hoping that Talanah is a love interest option for Aloy is it? Personally I like Aloy being pretty asexual as she was in the first game showing no real interest in either men or women even though a lot of them showed their interest in her. But I can imagine that eventually guerrilla will give in to public demand and develop a love interest storyline in Horizon and overall Talanah to me seemed to be the most suitable. She and Aloy can identify with each other a lot I think Aloy knows what if feels like to be shunned by her tribe pretty much like the Hawks excluded Talanah, she's also pretty badass in her own right being now the leader of the hawks and all that. However their friendship is very wholesome and if that is all it ever is I won't be disappointed.

@@vicente2044 absolutely, I certainly don't want them to get together just for the game to virtue signal, the worst thing that could happen to any game is when it goes woke. There is chemistry there to me but the storyline needs to work and the development needs to be natural not forced.

How is writing a video on the details people might not have time to catch up on themselves 'milking it'? Talanah has her own comics which people might not have read and people might not have played her storyline in the game. It's useful information to have as she is going to be in Forbidden West.
