Great how to here. I've used scotch tape to tape the aerials down also but over time the scotch tape tends to come loose so I adapted a method I use on my bigger balsa aircraft. I take a piece of nylon control rod tubing and cut them into 1/2 sections and either C/A or epoxy (depending on which model I'm working with). This way you can just feed the aerial through and when you need to remove it there will be no tape to deal with or the worry the tape may come off.

Great video..one more thing to consider...I would also put a small piece of tape on the other small antenna to prevent it from sliding down sideways as well. Thanks for all the good info!! keep em coming.

I've always wondered why Spektrum don't put longer extensions on their receiver aerials. The AR600 is one of the exceptions. Also, I'm sure a lot of people have wondered what effect that foam has on receiver reception when having the aerials inside the fuse. I may have to do a test with my RTH plane.

@vizzuleyes Just as a heads up we don't flag comments as spam. That's from KZbin, we do not do that. Also this info is also in the AR600's manual: For optimum RF link performance, mount the antennas for best possible signal reception for the aircraft in all possible attitudes and positions. Orient the antennas perpendicular to each other - one vertical and one horizontal

The AR610 has the standard coax antenna while the AR610C has an amplified antenna for increased signal clarity.

Check to make sure you haven't plugged the ESC into the receiver backwards. It sounds like you have the polarity reversed.

@AdriansFlyer He may have told you this BUT Spektrum labels these receivers AR500 & AR600 both as FULL RANGE RX. I have many of the AR500 and have flown up to what my eye sight can see and never once had any issues. OF course he probably mentioned CROWDED enviroment to push the fact that AR600 is DSMX and is purpose built to be used in crowded events. Of course if you attend major event I recommend the AR600 and DSMX other then that the AR500 is as good and is full range..

I am confussed about the the AR500 as well I have been told its long range and that its not. may we have the final answer from the pros? AR500 long range? and if so is it recommended for long range? Thank you. sorry for all the questions but i dont have the time to wait 3 to 4 hours for a tech rep. to return my call so I am dropping them here. this is the last one though.

@HorizonHobby, What is the difference between the AR610 AND AR610C ... I know the C stands for Coated but what does that mean? I even pulled their instruction manual and they are both the same and there is no mentioning anything about Coated. thanks

@HorizonRCdotCom I may have come across wrong, I have had no prob. with signal loss in my transmitter and recievers. I would not trade my Dx6i, Dx7 and Dx8 for any other brand. They have preformed flawlessly, accept at my error when adding to extra servos and crashing my show jet J-10b with thrust vector. I tried to get away with out a BEC and payed the price "I" caused the reciever to drop below the volt. thresh hold. This was stupid on my behalf and I learned my lesson well, over $1500 worth

I got a question I had to replace the fuselage of my t 28 because of a crash where I lost signal during landing. When I got the new body I put all the original electronics ,ESC motor servos etc, when I plug my battery up the receiver it has a red hold light that doesn't flash. I have an AR600 receiver from spektrum. Has any1 else had this problem? How can I fix it?

hmmm things that could have been adressed I don't know....along time ago!!!!! I guess it takes thousands of lost aircraft to produce a 5 min. clip. maybe how to keep your Stryker elavon control horns from breaking loose in flight will be next. I'm sure this (the truth) will be flaged as spam. Contact them and tell them about the stryker youll be amazed you are the first person to tell them about this. Weird that none are avail. untill Aug. I bet those will have backplates on the elevons.
