Thanks so much for bringing up perimenopause! I’m in my 40s and never heard such a thing except if it’s related to menopause. Which is completely different! Most women in their late 30s - early 50s are showing symptom of perimenopause and probably don’t even realize it due to lack of research from doctors or even social media.

4 months ago my hair began falling out and within a month, I lost about 40% of my hair. My scalp became extremely dry and I developed dandruff. I started biotin and while there was new growth, it couldn't keep up with the fallout and a lot of it is now coming in grey. My hair is 35" long and I loved it. The change was so sudden and extreme, my self esteem has hit the floor. I'll be 43 soon and looking back on the past year, there has been many changes to my skin and body that I just didn't understand. I now believe it is perimenopause; I had no idea it started so early. This video resonates with me and I don't feel so perplexed and helpless about what is happening. But also because you've offered some solutions to try. Target carries the Michiru brand and I'm excited to try it. ❤

This is wonderful. Thank you. I have been suffering with a very very sensitive scalp after getting my hair coloured, and it started not long after having the covid vaccine. So I'm thinking it had something to do with that as well as menopause. 🤔🤔 Have tried different combinations with my hairdresser and nothing has worked. She even told me that I might just have to go grey. That upset me very much. We tried Henna but it barely did anything. At the moment we are doing foils, and boy is that expensive. I have been searching and searching for something. I'm desperate 😢 the thing is the colouring process was OK at the time of getting it done, it was the next day that it would get so bad that I just wanted to rip my hair out, it was that bad. I will try and get some of this colour and give it ago. Can't believe your video just popped up. Thank you again ❤

Hi! Definitely patch test first. But I seriously had no idea what was happening with my scalp, didn't realize until much recently it was the hormones and apparently this isn't even uncommon, many of my friends are having the same issue. And yes, for some of them the aftermath of colouring the following days was a mess. Some of my friends (before I got them all this water colour hair dye) found "Just for Men" to work without issue. I personally think it has to do with the length of time the hair dye stays on the scalp. It's all a discovery process!

This is great. I have two types of diagnosed hair loss and take oral minoxidil- it's made a world of difference! I also use ketoconazole 2% shampoo for itchy scalp and to help with hair loss as well.... but it has made my hair so dry and brittle. I've tried the redken bond treatment but it's not helped. Would LOVE to see you expand on this topic into the ways that you manage the dry lengths of your hair as well ❤

I am trying to resolve my hair fall (unsure of cause initially put down to peri menopause or recently diagnosed Hypothyroidism, or both) with methods short of minoxidil because I don't want to commit to something life long if possible. I am just now trying Ketoconazole too. It is so drying. I am using Olaplex conditioner and then a deep conditioning treatment (Redken) after and it seems to be helping with brittleness. I think I need both protein and moisture.

Thank you so much for this. I have been suffering hair loss at my temples for 10 years now and I’m only 36. I’ve seen trichologists, dermatologists and doctors but I haven’t been able to find a reason for the hair loss. I’m now wondering maybe my hormones and maybe I should get them checked. I tried minoxidil but it caused my hair to fall out faster so I ended up having to stop using it. Even though I did see lots of peach fuzz growing in. So difficult dealing with hair loss so I appreciate this video.
@gothamista9 ай бұрын
Yes, when it happens it's so disconcerting and consuming. I also lose around my temples which kind of follows male pattern loss which often points to hormones. Also, when you first start minoxidil, they warn that it will initially cause more hair loss, so you have to ride out that period - it happened to me too and it's difficult to not react and stick it through but a few months later i'm seeing peach fuzz which is growing into longer hair. Hope this helps!

I posted another comment (don't see it though) about an article I found that stated that the Thailand FDA warned consumers about this hair dye product. The article said two chemicals found in them were prohibited in cosmetics. I did a quick search of both chemicals mentioned in the article, and they do not appear to be prohibited in the EU, though they are limited to certain concentrations. Sooo... I don't know. Anyway, again, not trying to be alarmist, just thought it was my duty to pass it along and I don't see a way to send a private message. Take care.

Hi Renee. I'm waiting in a queue to see a dermatologist after seeing a PCP and being "prescribed" a ketoconazole shampoo for scaly, sensitive, slow healing patches on my scalp. I've been using it for 4 weeks with underwhelming effect. Is there anything that you can recommend in the interim while a wait for scalp health advice to alleviate some of the texture and irritation? I don't even necessarily need a "fix it" at this point as much as a morale boost, like chicken soup when you're sick, to get me through the incredible embarrassment and frustration of dealing with these sore spots on my scalp for months that have led to some hair loss and scarring.
