Dr Louise Newson is the best menopause doctor! Thank You Dr Newson! 🙏❤️ Thank You for your wonderful work and contribution. on HRT for menopausal women. I’m 62, and missed out on 12 years of HRT because my gynae did not recommend HRT after my hysterectomy at 48. Wish I had been lucky like the 72 year old lady who received HRT after her hysterectomy at age 44. I’m still grateful that I have finally come to know about HRT through Osler Health, following a severe menopause crisis from July 2024, following a flu attack at age 62. Hoping to meet you at Osler’s SG Menopause Summit in Feb!🥰😍❤️

Absolutely fabulous. Thank you so much. HRT has literally given me my life back but I'm constantly having justify it to people telling me the 'risks' 😫 ...I usually answer something like "there's a fair risk to having no quality of life too" . Really fab video, thank you 😍😍😍

Dr Newson, thank you for this video. I really appreciate you and the significant contributions you make to womens health. I am 67 and did not experience side effects from menopause that interfered with my daily functioning until 2 years ago. Now my search for a dr who will listen and work with me has been a challenge. However, because of you I will keep trying. Thank you.

Thank you Dr Newson. I really appreciate your educational videos. I never felt right since 2009, even when I went on HRT (oestrogen and progesterone) and I was one of those who was saying, not so long ago, I am too old for the menopause. I am 58 and I knew menopause was destructive, but had no idea of just how destructive it can be. I am now awaiting testosterone blood results form the NHS. I am glad you came along as you have probably prevented lots of future physical and mental problems for me, thank you again. 🙏

This is reassuring for me. I have just taken my first pill last night and first patch on my abdomen this morning. I’m 66. My doctor asked me to do a mammogram first , which had come back normal thank goodness, so all good to go. Hope I don’t put on weight, but looking forward to better sleep and less aches. Have to take the pill on an empty stomach and no food for an hour after, so that cuts out snacking before dinner.

Thank you, this was so educational. As a 63 year old woman who has never used HRT, I am really suffering with sleep disturbance and increasing urinary symptoms, especially at night. Years ago I was advised by GP not to take HRT as my mother had developed breast cancer while on it and my risk would be high.

Finally I can make it back from the shops without running to the loo as soon as I get through the door. It`s a localised dose so safer. Vagifem was the brand I was given

Dr. Marty Makary debunks even the whi breast cancer myth in the hrt chapter of his just released book "Blind Spots", though, as so many, he thinks that hrt 10 yrs beyond menopause is useless-- which I don't agree with! Well worth reading his interviews with people who conducted that terrible study and what really transpired. Ty, Dr. Newson, for your channel!

I thought that the right hormones, including testosterone, would regulate cortisol. Where did you hear it took over? I've noticed more of cortisol since menopause and I am on oestrogen and progesterone and am awaiting bloods results for testosterone as I would like to try that.

Several OBGYN that I follow says, that if you are 10+ postmenopausal, you need to have your heart health evaluated (before going on HRT) because that there can be calcium build up in your arteries in the years that has passed since menopause. And when you go on HRT it can risk loosen the calcium buildup and cause a stroke. You did not mention this?

TRUE, but she mentioned it in several other videos though!

We in the US don’t take hormone replacement therapy because our medical system which I have Kaiser will not recommend or give it to you. I have having terrible symptoms my cholesterol and sugar are just terrible and it’s not related to diet. I know it’s related to hormones now listening to you, so I’m going to a specialist to pay out-of-pocket for this or else I don’t know where else to turn.😢

Thank you for this informative video, Dr. Newson. I read 'Estrogen Matters' last year to try and understand my own personal risk as a 67 menopausal women who had early stage breast cancer 15 years ago. What I still find a little bit difficult to ascertain is if there is a different risk for HRT and recurrence vs HRT and initial cancer? Watching your video, perhaps I missed it, the statistics you mentioned were for initial diagnosis? Is there a different risk for recurrence? Also, if someone is on HRT and they are diagnosed with a hormone sensitive cancer, is HRT stopped? Thanks.

Thank you so much . Exactly the information I have been needing . One question I have is about the progesterone in the Mirena coil . I know it’s synthetic . Is it better to take micronised progesterone rather than use the coil from a risk point of view ?

Hello. If you're with the NHS it's a postcode lottery. They seem ok in my area with E and P, now that the WHI study isn't giving them the wrong impression so much, but with testosterone, it's more difficult, dunno why. I had to say my low sex drive was ruining my relationship when I am single as that is why it's prescribed. The three numbers from the test showed normal. I went private for a script online to Newson's and they said why I am getting symptoms, and why T is not available in my blood. Newson Health likes to pass patients back to the NHS. I wish to see the Newson doctor for follow up and balance and then I will ask if they can get the NHS to prescribe, like they should. Dr Newson is baffled by the barriers women so often face to cheap body identical HRT that they need. She educates doctors as well as us.

Thank you so much for your reply. I think it can only get better, even though it's taking longer than it should. Just need to keep pushing.

Many women and medial societies are fighting this scary misinformation based on the flawed 2002 WHI study at the moment. Modern hormones are safe and the warnings refer to the old synthetic and horse urine "hormones". Pharmaceutical companies love to scare women away from their own (cheap) hormones and rather sell expensive statins, betablockers, sleeping pills and the like to them instead🤷♀️😡. Get better informed. A cream is not good enough, get the progesterone pill, the estradiol gel + testosterone!
