Hornby Ruston And Hornsby 88DS With DCC Sound And Stay Alive

As soon as I saw these announced I knew I wanted to fit sound to one. I've used a German Kö I sound file, as it seems to match a lot of the characteristics of how these locos sound, it's a nice rough, mechanical sounding loco. If there's enough interest I'll swap the horns and some of the aux sounds over, but for now its how it came from the ESU website, with just the motor and stay alive settings changed.
The install wasn't particularly easy, the decoder and stay alive are in the cab (well below the window line) and the speaker is behind the nose. I had to drill a hole through the cab wall, which wasn't easy as it's quite a hard metal.

That must of been fun to work out how to fit all that in such a tiny loco . Good one 👍

Yeah was fairly tricky, hardest part was drilling through the metal cab wall!
