I reckon it's meant to be fun. It is far too easy to get bogged down to rivet counting. Just enjoy, besides "decorating" a test track is where you can learn and make mistakes without giving yourself palpitations.

Ballast applicator was from Mark Smith on eBay; www.ebay.co.uk/usr/mark.smith1845 The sign was also from eBay. The particular listing that I bought mine from isn’t there anymore, but there are plenty of other traders selling them. Best regards Chris
