As someone who used Martini Henry ironside a lot before the update cuz it's budget friendly and hits like a truck I'm pretty used to slow velocity weapons I've got to say this gun is pretty fun to use. It's just a different feeling when you have to lead your shots to land them and when you get that hit marker you know it fkin HURTS

Yeah I couldn't agree more. I've also used low velocity rifles in the game and it takes some time to get used to leading but exactly as you said, if the damage is high and you see the hit marker, they are running and healing.

Martin Henry retains good range damage, unlike 1865, because he has a large caliber.

@@g3etik Don't be deceived. Medium ammo got buffed to start decay at 30 meters now instead of the old 20, and the 1865 deals base damage into the 140's. It's going to perform similarly for a lot of ranges to non-single shot long ammo rifles. Even before the range buff, it would still be pretty gnarly due to its high base damage. Plus it reloads fast and you can do the rinky-dink sillyness of skipping the animation of putting the spring back into the gun, though you definitely get bad revalue if you're only putting one or two bullets in since there is no way to skip, naturally, the spring removal animation. Also has a slower reload from empty than reloading from 0+1.

1865 Carbine is basically the Martini Henry Ironside with different use. Both weapons have high damage and good ammo capacity. 1865 Carbine has clean ironsights and more ammo at the cost of penetration and muzzle velocity, while the Martini has higher penetration and better muzzle for its sacrifice of ammo and view.

I'm used to play with low bullet speed guns like Sparks Silenced and Marathon with FMJ so I'm loving the Carabine 1865, it's made for close range I dont even try shooting over 60 meters.

It's like a cheaper Martini Ironside without a massive steel box blocking a third of your screen. Really good for mid-range skirmishes. I love it; I've been using it on fresh hunters as a dedicated PvP weapon, with a silenced Nagant to deal with mobs.

This is one of my favor8te rifles of all time. It is a carbine so we might get a longer version since the one we got was for cavalry. Would be cool to have a harder hitting slower firing clunky Centennial that doesnt get levering. I like the sights though but it shines at mid range.

This gun is perfect for me. The cycling rate doesn’t bother me because when I shoot and miss I run like a lil’ biotch 😅 then when I do manage to land a shot I rush and win or die. Either way it’s cheap for my aggressive play style. One day I’ll be as good as Hornet! Granted it’ll be like 20 years from now, but I’ll get there 😂

I think this gun is perfect for the tier I play (2-3 star) simply because everyone at this tier runs the most expensive gear possible (avtomats, auto-5s, nitros for some reason) and punishing them with this feels so good.

That MMR is also really good for this weapon, because most 2-3 Star Player dont peek for half a second but instead take some time so its easier to hit the slow bullet. Also they repeak the same spot over and over, so you dont even have to adjust to much. This allows for many Hits and if you can land these shots, this weapon becomes dangerous. Also a little plus for that mmr range, there are a big Part, that doesnt heal to full health everytime and most of them dont use something like regen shots 😂

I might have a slight intuitive sense for it, but is there solid data out there which we can use to know more concretely when a shot connecting is relying on your target standing in the same place you fired? The ironside was my go-to rifle for quite a while and in long range fights I could never quite get a sense if my hits and misses were entirely due to my aim or simply my opponent's bad positioning.

Really sorry to hear that, i had some issues with Microsoft, discord and nivida overlays but they made my game crash pre update. Updating Windows and graphics drivers may help if turning off overlays didn't

Update your drivers and windows version. After that verify your steam files then restart your pc. After that launch the game and wait an hour ish to see if it’s just getting stuck on the boot screen

Yeah idk most fps games i play are games with bullet drop and i have unironically been killing people at like 150m semi consistently with officer carbine deadeye regular ammo as high vel got gutted and is now terrible not salty just mad. I most play in 6 star mmr sometimes dip to 5 when i play some meme combo

Not really. It has effective range up to 40-50m. It's not a shotgun in any way. It more resembles a sidegrade to Martini-Henry Ironside.

@@squeezyjibbs6643 take any winfield / centennial / vetetrli and you'll still 2 tap in that range with a higher fire rate and a much higher muzzle velocity. It's only real purpose is close range bodyshots, which shotgun slugs outperform it in any way. It has no niche.

@upularFTW you know what it can do what others can't? 2 taps ANYWHERE. 2 shots to a leg - kill. 2 shots to an arm - kill. And all that up to about 40m, depending on where you hit. Cenny/Veterli/Winfield suck ass when they hit arms or legs.

I can’t hit shit with this gun. the cycle time is so awkward in practice bc the moment I hear the actual lever I line up another shot and click before the hammer is pulled back in the animation and nothing happens. Shot opportunity is missed and the resulting potshot when I fire again out of frustration lands uselessly into a wall. It’s a skill issue but even the lebel doesn’t have this janky cycle animation despite being that kinda gun afaik
