My favorite pianist.... amazing virtuoso, unbelievable talent. He was unfortunately not far from his passing when he gave this breathtaking recital. I really love his artistry. I would have loved to be there....

I was there, a high school kid at the time, I can still hear vividly in my mind the magical sounds Horowitz drew from the piano, wrong notes and all, that a recording like this can convey maybe only 70%.

He was coming in sight of the end. He knew it. And the audience knew it. To pulll off the Moszkowski as he did was nothing short of a miracle. He and the audience knew that -- they experienced something special. The love in the applause and not wanting to let him go because they knew they might never see him again. Among the greatest.

This late Horowitz recital to me is the crowning glory of an extraordinary artistic career. There can never be another virtuoso with such charisma, artistry and superhuman pianstic skills.

More genius than Horowitz=Sviatoslav Richter Solomon Cutner Grigory Sokolov Maurizio Pollini Stanislav Bunin! More powerful louder than Horowitz=Mikhail Pletnev(Prokofiev piano concerto no 1 by Pletnev!) The Second Loudest was Lazar Berman! The 3rd Loudest was Erwin Nyiregyhazi! Only thing Horowitz was super was his technique!!

Definitely one of Horowitz's best recitals. Everything is played immaculately and with great feeling. Highlights for me are his Schubert together with Liszt's arrangement titled Soirées de Vienne and his Schumann. The opening Mozart Rondo is memorable too. Recommended with enthusiasm.

13 июля 2024 года,мой новый день благодаря всемирной команде Ютуб начался очередной трансляцией концерта Владимира Горовица в Венском Золотом Зале Мюзикферайн,состоявшемся в 1987 году - 37 лет назад.Низкий поклон всем тем людям,кто причастен к записи и в последующие годы к трансляции этого выдающегося,грандиозного концерта,в котором с большой любовью,с безупречным профессионализмом запечатлен образ Гения Музыки 20 столетия,обладавшем фантастической,волшебной,только ему присущей техникой игры на фортепьяно.Крупные планы рук,лица Владимира Горовица,смотрящего прямо на камеру,будто бы в вечность - мои восторг и восхищение.Особая благодарность за титры с указанием произведений программы концерта,к нему буду возвращаться и в последующие мои дни.В слезах радости,счастья смотрю,слушаю Великого Маэстро Владимира Горовица,светлая ему память,пишу комментарий и шлю привет всем пользователям Ютуб ,кто написал до меня и напишет после меня свои комментарии,Музыка на все времена с нами навсегда.

@@НинаПурышева-е3т супер, молодым собирал пластинки виниловые. Надо было по местам и городам. Дабы приобрести шедевр очередной. А нынче всё есть, буквально. И миллион лет не хватит прослушать одного, например, маэстро Моцарта в интерпретации пианистов и дирижёр. Великолепно, прямо калейдоскоп настроений, оттенков, красок, тонкостей, мазков, красок, света, теней. Шикарный Ютуб, Да здравствует он forever!!!

Как же мне надоедала классическая музыка по радио в 70-80х годах. Как же я теперь благодарна, что Ленинградское радио с детства приучило нас слушать классическую музыку. В 55 лет я вспомнила про Горовица и наслаждаюсь его исполнением.

Dans une interview datant du milieu des années 1970 - alors qu'il remettait la Sonate de Liszt sur le métier -, Horowitz déclarait : "Tant que je pourrai jouer des oeuvres qui demandent de la force, je le ferai; quand je deviendrai gaga, je jouerai Mozart". Heureusement pour nous, il ne devint pas "gaga" mais il sut alléger ses programmes, le grand âge venu. Demeure la magie d'un jeu unique et inimitable.

The sound quality is a remarkable improvement over the video version I have! The beautiful rendering of his playing comes through with such clarity it almost seems you could just as well be there live.

What a wonderful career Vladimir Horowitzo had. An amazing pianist that gave the best recitals ever. This concert was so special. God gave us a pianist that was better than world class. He will always be remembered as a pianist with amazing talent and a pleasure to watch. This concert i will never forget. I also studied piano in Vienna. ❤

The Liszt/Schubert piece is priceless! There are so many artistic and musical decisions that have to be made and performed, and the integrity and connectedness of those are impeccable and amazing.

Such a delicate touch, loved the way he plays the Mozart early in the concert. Very sedate tempo in the Schubert Impromptu but it is gorgeous. He's so good in the Schumann too. Horowitz was such a sensitive player. Never heard him live. Much as I dislike being online, KZbin comes into its own when we can enjoy wonderful recitals like this one. Have been watching Rubinstein, Richter and Brendel concerts/recitals the last few nights. What a joy to listen to these great pianists and always nice to compare and contrast them too.

A legend. Vladimir Horowitz was such a rock star during his years with the NBC Orchestra that his dressing room on the 8th floor of 30 Rock was customized to access its own private elevator to the ground. Today, Studio 8H is used expressly for SNL. When I worked in 8H, I found that dressing room with one wall showing unmistakeable signs of construction to block that historic passageway leading to ‘his’ elevator. No sign, nothing, just people with the memories to enlighten me.

the man was a walking neurosis, not just one, a pack of them. The most horrible couple with his wife Wanda. They wondered why they had to wait to meet the president once, at the White House, they could not care less but about themselves and saw themselves as aristocrats with the world around them as a court.. Not the first time the man does not equate, by far, the artist. I will take Rubinstein anytime, over Horowitz
