I really feel bad for Joanne. If she hadn’t tried to escape when she did, she would’ve been killed too and more than likely suffered sa and torture at the hands of that monster. The amazing amount of courage it must have taken to make a run for it in the middle of the night in the Australian outback while bound is unfathomable to me. If he had killed her too, they would have been 2 random tourists who vanished in the middle of nowhere. No one would have seen it happen and he would have never been caught. The fact that everyone was judging her every word, stirring up mistakes she made in the past and just being callous and unkind after what she went through is just awful. I hope she has been able to move forward and find some kind of happiness and peace in this life.

I could not have said this better myself! I am so proud of Joanne for finding the courage to run and save herself. I would have been absolutely terrified to run into the outback knowing I may die out there regardless. If it wasn’t for Joanne, they NEVER would have caught him, and he would’ve continued on his monstrous missions.

She's definitely not the innocent victim she's made to be. There is a lot of stuff left out from the case (I have family who worked it). Not saying Murdoch is innocent, he's a pig who committed some horrible crimes, but Falconio is one that doesn't really add up too much. I suggest looking into Lees a bit deeper than just the surface scared in the episode at the start. Even her own family thinks she's guilty.

I saw a recent documentary which raises serious forensic (technical and medical) and procedural doubts about how the police investigation and the trial were conducted. It seems that the expert medical witness was not an expert in respiratory matters and claimed that coughing could not cause unconsciousness, when that phenomenon was already known among respiratory specialists at the time. Also, the reconstruction of the car sinking was done in two metres of water, not the eight meters where the accident actually happened. The car would have sunk far faster than the police said. So the medical and technical opinions presented at the trial do not stand up to scientific scrutiny. There have been calls for a retrial due to a possible miscarriage of justice.

I am really annoyed by the Diane Mangan insertion and the patronising way she suggests that women need to reach out in cases of domestic violence! This was not a case of domestic violence - this was a case of a narcissist who didn't get his way. Allison was blindsided because a narcissist can be a very good husband until they feel they are no longer the centre of your world, then they are eyeing up the next 'victim'. Some have affair after affair, with a lot of gaslighting and downplaying. Some see no way out except to remove the obstacles in their way. Their fantasy becomes their reality. I speak from experience.

@@Rubytuesday1569 I think its important to have an open mind, why can't the dead say who killed them? Especially if it's in their voice. You can't make up someone's voice in a livestream. And someone who knew him, stated that was his voice! I didn't know him, nor did I know what he sounded like before he left this world. And as for evidence, I could ask the same question to you.. why charge a person with his murder without a body? Isn't that considered irresponsible too?
