How great to see the new Horrified game just has I finished killing Monsters for October. I own the other 3 games and am sure this one will make it to my shelf. I killed 256 monsters in October missing my goal of 264 by 8. Better Luck next year for me. Enjoyed it.

Great playthrough. I only have the original of this game which I love playing, but don't get it to the table enough. Always guaranteed to come out around Halloween though 🙂

Hey, love your playthroughs! - I got into Dune and some other cool games because of you two and having a great time! :) If I could leave some constructive feedback: I really miss you playing some of the "newer / trendy" games. I enjoyed your playthroughs of Dune Imperium, Brass, Nova, Cascadia etc. a lot and and would just love to see some of the newer games. Stuff like Dune Imperium Uprising, Lord of the Rings Duel, Dune War of Arrakis, Arcs, Sky Team. Obviously I understand when you want to support kickstarters a lot more, but maybe you can push in some of the more trendy/exciting ones in between since I think your way of teaching & playthrough + the feedback at the end is just really nice to understand if those games are a fit for our board game shelves. Plus it could bring some more attention towards your channel as well. 🙂 Just wanted to share and thanks so much for all your work and great videos! :)

Great playthrough! We’ve only got the Universal Monsters game, but the monsters in this one look great. I taught my eldest how to play yesterday and she loved it, so might pick up another version, but I’m spoiled for choice 😅

Fun playthrough! As much as I like your competitive banter, it’s also nice seeing you play co op every once in a while haha. Two (very minor) errors I think I spotted- at 23:00, shouldn’t Jiangshi have moved as well, since they also have the red hand symbol? at 26:30, I think Jiangshi *was* actually closer to Naveen lol, so should’ve moved towards him

Good try! I think that Greek Monsters and this one are a lot harder than the first two games. The Lairs mechanic makes it harder.

I don't think it would have made much of a difference, but when a Monster Card says a monster moves to the nearest hero with whatever, they jump to that hero's space. It's move to, not move toward.

I was hoping you would play this! Disappointed you skipped Cthulhu, though. :/ He's the main attraction of the box. By the way, the rules call the people you need to rescue both citizens and legends, because this game is fully compatible with Horrified: Greek Monsters, and in that one they were Greek legends. In this box, they're just citizens.

Awesome play through! And I wonder if I have been playing my copy of American Monsters wrong... at 13:41 you mentioned that the monster dice aren't rolled at all if there are no targets in that spot. I still roll & trigger any power results that come up. Have I been playing on hard mode?!?

For almost every Monster in all the Horrified games you only roll the dice if the Monster is on a space with a Hero or a villager and attacking them. If it is on an empty space you do not roll. The one exception (to date) is Bigfoot in American Monsters. He rolls before he moves and only if there are no heroes on his starting space. For bigfoot you get terror if you roll a !. The hits do nothing.

@srpad I knew Bigfoot was unique in that but good to know I've actually been making the game harder for myself! Maybe the Banshee isn't quite as painful as I thought she was, trying to play solo...
