He would have needed to win at least 8 of those 9 races and finish 2nd in the other one that he could beat Hirscher on points which is extremely unlikely that would have happened.

Lost the outside ski edge when fully committed.. When you do that your inside ski suddenly gets loaded, but your leg is not in a strong enough position to resist the load, so it just grabs and your leg buckles under you. Your inside knee punches you in the chest and you just get ejected skyward. It always seems to put you in the sacriest position...head down the hill, looking at the sky, skis up the hill, going full speed, wondering WTF just happened. Common crash in slalom but not i DH. Very scary.

i havent been going 100 km/h but from my experience jumping while flipping is "fun", then landing to lose your ski and what not doesnt hurt unless you really hurt yourself... like you are going 100 km/h

well theres alot of factors at play here. depending on the exact crash the speed isnt really the issue if your skis come loose you at least dont get the torsion on your knees. but then hes still going fast and falling from a bit of hight, also on competition the slopes are iced over which means it feels like falling on concrete. TLDR depends on the crash still gonna hurt like hell even if you dont get seriously injured. Hope that helps ;)
