THIS.... is my nightmare. This game just caused a flashback from when I was a kid and I crawled under my grandparents' house (I was exploring and playing). Spiders, ear wicks, ants, centipedes and all other sorts of creepy crawlies. One of the worst experiences in my life. Worse is when as an adult I had to crawl under there again to get some gardening tools.

What this really needs is clanking from your armour and the occasional skid of the knees when you're navigating an incline. That would be so much more immersive. Otherwise it makes no difference that you're playing a knight.

the two replies are both wrong, the creator didn't think of the anachronistic details. lab rat was never a term used for " labyrinth" rats. those are rats in a maze, just typical laboratory rat testing stuff.

It's been a while since a game has made me feel such visceral fear within minutes. The claustrophobia of the tunnels and the ickiness of the bugs just made my stomach twist. I'm very interested to see how this will look as a full length game.

I think as soon as you reached the second glowing mushroom, you could see the glow of the first was starting to dim out, as the mushroom you had finally died. However, it is unknown from watching the demo if the mushroom you have will only die out once you reach a new one to pick, or if it will just suddenly go out if you don't find a new one in time.

I honestly hope it keeps the gore to a minimum. Maybe short flashes at maximum. The darkness of a cave system is the perfect set up for implied horror, like the scream and the shadow passing overhead. Because your head will create images that the game could never recreate.

This games really neat! It has a cool style to it and it helps it stand out! The Knight almost clashes with the environment a bit as the area especially the architecture looking very alien! Makes me really curious where he might be- I’m excited for the full release and I hope we get to see Manly play it! I bet it will be a lot of fun!

This reminds me of that giant anthill you find underground in Elden Ring. When I found those mounds of half-digested bodies and realized that those things were probably dragging unsuspecting peasants down there from the surface, it was one of the most disturbing moments in the game for me.

@@Forgemno I think some people fear bugs because they're small, hard to see coming, and can be venomous. I agree that people shouldn't fear bugs. Keeping one's home clean can reduce bugs and bugs sneaking up on people. People can also do a bit of research on which common bugs where they live are venomous or not.

One nitpick about the dialogue -- the Knight references "lab rats," which never coexisted at the same time as knights. The first lab rat maze experiments were done in 1903, and the term "lab rat" did not become popularly used until the 1950s. So, whether it be set in historical Earth, or even any medieval-technology fantasy universe I can think of ... that's a bit out of place. The tech stuff is fine because it appears to be from the aliens, but it's a little strange that the knight himself not only understands what a "lab rat" is, but actually made the reference himself.

_Wonder what the setting is_ The character looked like a medieval knight, yet the dialogue wasn't medieval. "This place is a labyrinth and *I'm a lab rat"* . The term lab rat is from the 20th century, so is this "knight" really medieval? Or is he from modern times, stuck on an alien planet, made to use old equipment and only tools found in the dungeon? The setting is intriguing. Very claustrophobic. Badly needs subtitles for me to understand the voice of the knight - or anything else he meets in the dungeon.

Reading the game's current description on Steam, it would seem that the main character is indeed a medieval knight that inexplicably ended in the dungeon. This would then mean that, at least for now, this use of the term "lab rat" was in fact an anachronism on the devs' part (as well as a pun on *lab* yrinth rat) In any case the game looks really promising
