@@jeafwhite @Jean-François Leblanc Quebec French sounds even weirder to someone such as myself who knows just a tiny bit of "French" French. It actually took me a few minutes to realize what it was. Have you watched the VICE documentary "True Norwegian Black Metal"? There's a part where the journalists are visiting Gaahl from Gorgoroth at his creepy, secluded, no-electricity, no-cellphone-signal place in Norway. I thought there were some similarities. Let me just add: I totally loved this short! Everything is so well done. Two index fingers and two pinkies up 🤘🤘

I love this film. I'm a life-long metal fan, and I've been in a few garage bands. Most metal heads are great people, and surprisingly well educated. But there are also some really messed-up people in underground music. This movie is not too far from reality.

Exactly. Actually, Landgraves is an old French term to describe someone, called a Landgrave, who has total jurisdiction on his land. He can do what he wants.

Beguining to wath the video: "ho no option to have subtitles, it may be hard to understand what people are saying" latter: "ho it is french.... but... lot of snow... quebec? ho english subtitles, good it may have been hard to understand what people are saying without it" (pour éviter un mal entendu: ce n'est pas une question d'accent mais le vocabulaire, les expressions, parfois la grammaire et une façon différente d'utiliser des mots anglais, tout ça rend des sous titre presque nécessaire. Je raconte ma vie, mais je me rappelle d'avoir vue Tom à la ferme; à la fin je réussissais à quasi tout comprendre mais j'ai eu l'impression d'être passé à côté d'une bonne partie du film) C'était un très bon court métrage. Deux choses m'ont sauté aux yeux: -porter des sneakers par ce temps au Québec -avoir une bouteille de vin qui se ferme avec un bouchon à vis. Apparement l'une d'entre elles étaient importante pour l'intrigue. Reste que je me méfirais de quelqu'un qui me sert du vin d'une bouteille pareil; c'est du louche.

Haha! Et bien, oui, l'idée des sneakers était partie intégrante du character's building du protagoniste : quelqu'un qui n'est pas bien préparé pour son travail. Malgré nos hivers violents, certaines personnes (lire ici « hipsters ») évitent encore les bottes d'hiver et passer l'hiver en sneakers. Pour la bouteille de vin, ces bouteilles sont vraiment plus fréquentes ici! Et ce n'est plus un gage de non-qualité comme avant. On peut lire plusieurs articles en ligne qui démontrent le progrès chez les vins avec un bouchon à vis!

My favourite second in this was the 12:52 timestamp when he opens the door and we hear that swoosh representing the impossible dilemna of the danger out there vs the danger in here...possibly followed by the second he turns over the album but hard to say because I also loved the 3:42 timestamp of him looking for something and the other side looking right at him. I haven't read anything from the writer yet but and I know this is in French but I am guessing it is Canadian because Canadians pull off suspense really well...and yes I say that as a Canadian. Regardless, I love the use of music tempo with this and the terrified feelings of the isolation one can feel when people make them look crazy. If anyone is curious, this is how narcissists get away with so much.

Wonderfully Amazing 👏 one of the best I've seen so far! I love death-doom metal so as soon as I saw the intro I knew this would have been good. The actors were really into it, and the photography was superb. Nothing to do with those cringy movies with posers and teen Goths that pretend to know what Metal is. The things that happened in the North European scene were something really dark and gruesome... Also, nice to hear some Quebec French! 🤗

It means that the journalist fell unconscious in the woods and the band then found him, but, instead of saving him, they took a picture of his injury and then left them there.

I think the idea is to be thrown into the midst of it. Like the journalist is going to find out more about the band that was in prison without any preconceived ideas...and so his journey is supposed to be discovered through your eyes. So part one would be their story...like that they spent time in prison for killing but this is not the story. The story is his experience going to meet them. Some people complained about not having good visuals and I feel without a few visuals that it could really throw the audience. Was there anything you had a hard time seeing?

It's up to the viewer! We didn't want to answer the question because the character himself never knew the answer. The unknown is always more scary!
