Shortly after the events of Duncan Gets Spooked, Duncan suffers never ending teasing from Sir Handel. To take his mind of it, Skarloey shares a story with Sir Handel and the other engines. A story that may be far more real than any ghost story could be.

Jesus... poor Sir Handel. I sure hope that he will eventually break out of his traumatic experience and be more like his usual self, again, but maybe as a much different engine like he was when he reappeared in Season 10. Not going to lie, this has to be the most spookiest story out of all the others you have written and adapted.

This is a change of pace in a way. Instead of usual Ghosts or Poltergeist activity, we have a creature here. A very terrifying creature. Maybe this is the reason why Sir Handel was sent to work at the Quarry for the "Summer". He was traumatized from this. And so he became a wiser engine. At least in this headcannon probably. Overall, i think this story is great. I can't wait to see what you have in store for us for the rest of the stories in this last season for Horror of the Rails.

Damn, this was even more scarier from the half engine last month, despite skarloey’s stories was mostly true, I think that the actual story of it along with the whole audio story gives me the creeps, for those who took part on helping doing the audio story did a splendid job on there voice acting, especially for gencyart23 who did a awesome job on his drawings for the story. It was a great pleasure to be a part of this production. It all started back in January 2021, when I asked Joe if I could partake in a production on one of the Horror of the Rails audio-stories. He said he would let me know about if there were parts available and I waited. Several months go by and the part of Rusty was offered to me and I delivered. Damn The Lack of Emotion on Sir Handles Face at the end Really Seals the deal. Not Sure if it's art or the way the scenario is Narrated but both aspects of this video really make me feel the fear/trauma Sir Handel Now carries. Amazing work by all!! This was truly a good listen!

Plot twist: the creature of skarloey was actually a sun bear, which is a bear that looks like a guy wearing a terrible bear costume, or probably it's another species of bears, european ones (if they exist)

Well, that was a very different type of horror story, to say the least. All of the Duncan Gets Spooked interpretations I've seen are incredibly tame compared to this. If this story was canon to the show, then it would certainly explain why Sir Handel was absent for several seasons - an incident like that isn't something one would simply recover from.

Okay, that was rather terrifying. Especially the last illustration. Glad to have narrated such a cool story. The voices asking, if not taunting, Sir Handel on whether the tale was made up were inspired by _The Rise of Skywalker._ I'm sure some of you know who they might be... At one point, I thought about giving the Creature a single line before it attacked Sir Handel: "Let. There. Be. CARNAGE!!!" And then there would follow a psychotic laugh. But then, I wasn't sure if it would fly. Probably not, given the illustration. LOL

All of these stories are basically if the Railway Series had more balls. They fit in universe and could work as actual episodes if toned down. same story, lighter theme kind of thing, keeping some suspense but making it more kid friendly to teach kids that keeping brave makes you stronger

I don't know how many times I have seen or listened to this story, but The Creature of Skarloey has to be another favourite of mine in this series. Instead of the usual stories that involve ghosts, this one is more about a cryptid. When I first watched this audio production, I thought the creature would be something like the Nartwin from The Stories of Sodor while others thought it was like a werewolf or the Rake (a popular creepypasta character). But upon seeing what the creature itself, it does give me the impression that it does look like the latter. Other than that, it's an intimidating creature and I really love listening or watching this video. Another fantastic addition to Horror of the Rails.

My theory of the creature is that a long time ago were the town of skarloey now sits. An old being lived there until it was forced to hide from the humans. Why well most likely becuse of the human boom boom sticks. But as the year went on the creature got tired of hiding and most likely began killing people alone in the woods or lonely farms. Non the less one day in 1887 i guess. Skarleoy was making his why tru the town of skarloey but as he passes an old farm house he sees a farmer running for his life but before he can do anything the creature grabes the old man ripping his heart out. Skarloey and his crew sees everything but doesnt say a Word. Fortunatley for them the creature doesnt see them as they make there way back to crovans gates. Skarloey ask his driver if he know what that thing even was. His driver ”sighs” and tell him the story of his grandfather who meet the thing but made it out alive barley and sold his farm and moved to crovan were he would tell is grandson about his encounter with the thing. As they stop at crovan the controller is waiting for them as they are 15 minuts late and wants an anwser were skarloey and his driver tells him what they saw, the controller says in a dark tone ”some things are best left- he stops for a second, then he says in a even darker tone ”alone”

Sad that this is the final ever series of Horror of the Rails, but I hope you can still make dark stories in a different capacity. (Railway themed, or something 100% original and new)

Most likely it a windago (a person who becomes a canible and ends up mutating becoming skinny but strong, razor sharp claws, toenails, and teeth. They are known to hunt at deep forests and are great hiders where they take their prey to the lair like a old building or mine.)
