Saw these naughty sausages at Bestival 2012? Sick muthas. The stage wreathed in smoke, shadows in the dark, psychedelic sounds swirled through the mist, my mind disconnected, I left myself, went with the flow, lost the thread yet found a connection. I knew none of their music. I knew all of their music, it knew me. We melded in the night.

the balls on you to open with "these naughty sausages" then casually evolve into pure poetry. very Horrors though.

I’m so glad The Horrors have returned. Pre-ordered the LP and it will be the best birthday present ever. Been a horrors fanatic since I first saw them on the cover of NME. Their fashion style just astounded me, and hadn’t even heard a single song and thought to myself “these lads are the real fucking deal”. They’ve, to me personally, stood head and shoulders above most UK bands for nearly 20 years. Bold of me to say, but they’ve just been so consistent. And some of their contemporaries have either fallen off a cliff musically or disbanded. The Horrors ARE forever. Best band in the world. My all time fave. Also nicest bunch of dudes. Had the pleasure of hanging with Rhys and sharing some drinks with him when he DJ’d at a TOY show. I’m soooo happy they’re back. Love the fact a new and fresh lineup has given them a new edge and dynamic, but I am going to miss Tom Furse and Coffin Joe 😢 I 🖤u guys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Agree - defo harder for indie bands to hang in there and have lost many over the years but do try to support them and the new ones that arrive. I do think The Horrors (including the new look version) appreciate the fans that follow them on their journey too. We have to wait until March 2025 for the physical LP/CD but will hear more of it before then.

The Horrors - The Silence That Remains Walking the length of the city Like a child Waiting for the call Searching the streets for directions The endless life Emotion never shown You need all these things Waits to help your better way But when I pull you close The pain goes You need all these things In the silence that remains Still I just don't know Why that distance grows? So why, why that distance grows? Out of sight, why that distance grows? So why, why that distance grows? Like a child running back to you Running back to you Calls that the silence remembers You live on Through all the days of [?] Searching in every direction Catching fire Your mind [?] doubt You need all these things Waits to help your better way But if I pull you close The pain goes You need all these things In the silence that remains Still I just don't know Why that distance grows?
