I lived in Elko and Battle Mountain. I know they were much less populated back then. The winters can be brutal and and not much out on those roads. Strange and chilling tale.

I live in Winnemucca Nevada it's in Northern Nevada. I used to live in Elko and Battle mountain actually. There is a place called pumpernickel valley, lots and lots of mysterious deaths disappearances and all sorts of stuff had happened in pumpernickel valley but that's closer to Winnemucca

I also live near Winnemucca & driving those hwys at night can be extremely scary. Especially when coyotes are howling in packs around you 🫣 And I agree with you as many people have gone missing in that area just leaving a car & never found. There are no street lights like bigger cities have so it is literally pitch black 🫣. And MANY old mines all over resulting in injury & death. So if you’re driving the Nevada hwys always be ware as our winds/snow in some areas can blow you off the road. It’s a lonely road for sure 😳👵🏻👩‍🌾❣️

Once again a brilliant story by a great narrator. That poor boy losing his whole family to some strange desert dwelling evil thing. The desert is so vast and who knows what decides to come out after dark. If this is a true story I am truly sorry this happened to this poor lad. All his family ripped away from him like that. Very very sad.

Nevada is one big creepy wasteland once you leave Vegas, Reno, or Carson City. The eastern side of the Sierra Nevada Mountains is so alien looking and completely different from the western slope which is where I live. It’s beautiful high desert but also a brutal environment. Hundreds of people have gone missing there, especially travelers not familiar with the area. Just like the Donner Party people take “short cuts” and it rarely ends well.

Used to and still afraid of SLC so i avoid it at all costs usually cut thru from the i-15 thru Provo then straight to the I 80 heard many stories as a child of Salt Lake City. This is why I avoided.
