CHUCK BLACK you never seem to disappoint me !! You are the BEST teacher. I have struggled with the coat on a German Shepherd for a long minute, watching you paint this beautiful horse did 2 things for me. Number one it showed me what I was doing wrong, number to you ( as always ) inspired me to paint more often and different topics. I had to stop painting for 20+ years and just started back up 6-9 months ago. You inspire me daily. This really inspires me to get back to my western art. I won some nice ribbons back then and want to get back to that level. Thank you for all you do !! You make this ol' gals day almost every day. I can search your videos and find any study I need!!!!! Love that striper brush, I added it to my brushes tool kit. I'm just going to have to get back to doing a few horse paintings and drawings. I started out learning to draw by drawing horses when I was a child and I still love them so much. This painting turned out lovely.

I find it amazing that you could paint animals so beautifully and not be vegetarian . I am a wildlife vet and ethologist, and the more i studied animals the less it became possible to have them in my plate until they naturally disappeared from my alimentation.

honestly it's just what is comfortable for me so I don't know what you would call it. But I agree it's probably not hyper-realistic as the up close details are just smudges of paint really and the individual details like hairs are not there. I have tried painting all the little hairs and things and it tends to stress me out more than anything so I try to move quick and stand back to look at the results these days

I will yes, to be fully transparent I really needed to distance myself from that type of content over the recent years because I am just a believer in less talking and more practicing/learning. I expect I'll get more vocal as time goes on, but my art has been at the center of my focus and I put all my energy into that. I've been thinking about some q+as tho and I think it'd be fun to start a few of those this year. Thank you so much!
