Thank you for the lesson on HHR machines. I was hoping that there may be a strategy with these types of machines, but from you and what I've noticed at my local HHR gaming place, betting low is the way to go! Three years ago I hit a hand-pay of $3900 playing just 90 cents. Just small payouts since, but I did see someone hit for $225,000. Thanks again

Thanks Brantley! We have these in Louisville and other cities in Ky. Played them ONE time, would rather drive another 25 minutes and go to a REAL casino in Indiana. Just a sideways attempt by legislators to get public to accept gambling. And is betting on horse racing not gambling? I love playing slots but not enough to enjoy these wannabes. Thanks Brantley! I go to Oak Grove in Kentucky and they have HHR gaming machines. Lots of low denomination games like quick hits with a max of $2. You can make your budget last a lot longer. It’s the one place I play stinkin’ rich 😂

That’s all we have here at the border between Kentucky and Tennessee. Because gambling is illegal in KY, this is the work around. I actually hit a JP for $10k max bet on Tree of Wealth $8.80 bet full screen of dragons

HHR machines can pay out pretty nicely. For these machines it’s not necessarily the denom that matters as much as the spin bet. You are just as likely to win a big amount on a $2 spin whether it’s 200 pennies, 40 nickels, or 20 dimes. As long as you bet within your limits you’ll have a good time playing. I’ve hit really nice wins at big and small bets, and I love that if you bet relatively big, you can win big and not worry about getting a W-2G if the win wasn’t more than 300x the spin bet. $1800 win on a $10 bet, tax-free? i’ll take it!

Have these machines in my area and have been educating myself in some of your traditional approaches to slots, then with more research I realized what these HHR machines actually are. New Hampshire just got them and they are expanding to every venue possible. Almost too much. But they do play differently than regular slot machines. I've won more on them then when I've played at the private casinos in my area. I'm not sure about what bet to make...most people who I've seen win have played $5 - $10 bets. I can't go that high. I think $1-$2 should give the player a nice experience (most of the time). Just remember whether HHR or Slots the house has the advantage. So play carefully, do get out of control. We all do sometimes, but you have to play with this in mind.

Not going to every venue possible, still very regulated for HHR. Not sure what area you are from but there is no private casinos in NH. Bet what you can lose most are not trying to make a living from it just having fun, and the vid says bet lower amount and you could win big.

@@tomm8068 there are a lot of casinos in New Hampshire...The Brook in Seabrook, Gate City in Nashua, Filitimo in Manchester and Dover to name just a few. In order to operate legally as a casino in the state they must donate so much money to charity. Also since slot machines are technically not allowed in NH, they worked around it by installing HHR machines.

And of course since the payout is based on how well you match your picks in the horse races, the bonus games (especially pick bonuses) are predetermined.

Literally was thinking about the alternative games you covered once before [The tic tac toe sale "pattern" puzzle games] at your local bar, and was wondering if you had given up on covering shall we say slot "Adjacent" games. Glad to see HHR covered. As I said then, I will repeat, covering games similar to standard slots makes for a well rounded channel, and gives your channel an advantage most, if not all of the other channels do not have. Plus, it's just cool to know about these things, if I am ever in an area that has them. "Knowing is half the battle."

I was in a local bar years ago and they were doing something where they would show old horse races on a projector screen and you could bet on each race. I believe all the proceeds went to benefit a local school. I don't think I won anything, I was probably only doing $2/race, but It was lots of fun!

We’re not talking about a particular machine, it’s a class of machines. So pictures are not needed. If you have to ask if it’s horse racing based or not then the answer is going to be no. Because these machines aren’t found at casinos, only parlors and tracks.

I like HHR as these are the only type of slot games in my area. I have done very well with them for over the past 44 months! I slightly disagree with you that you should "low roll it only" as my going from $1.00 per spin to $5.00 per spin (and smartly attempting to "quit while ahead" for every possible play session) has increased my yearly win totals by 200% to 300% ! I must admit, 300% is probably based on pressing the button at the "right time-microsecond", or, simply pure luck! In any event, the RTP of these games (in my area - VA) seems to be equal or better than a lot of other real casinos in the country! HHR machines will never be ATMs (for most players), this is always a "gamble", and you must always be very careful and disciplined when playing them: this applies to any type of slot machine!). Up until 2 weeks ago there was a MUCH better slot-like machine in just about every convenience store in the state. Those blue Queen of Virginia machines had a hidden side game built in so they could call it a "skill game". After a losing spin if you touch the words "touch here to follow me" it would bring up a Simon-like game with a 3X3 grid of dots. If you complete 20 rounds you get your money back for that spin. If you can do it consistently it goes from being a slot machine to being a slot machine that gives you a free do-over for every losing spin. Those machines were like ATMs for me, and I turned it into a full-time job. I'll never forgive the politicians for taking those away and "firing" me from the coolest job I ever had.

Hey, finding, checking out your channel and enjoying. My question is since HHR is pulling from a vast amount of historic races and horses randomly, isn't this just a different RNG? I live near HHR casinos, and have played a bunch and the machines still tend to fall in low to high volatility. I've played in casinos with "real" slots and doesn't really seem to be a difference. How is it not just basically swapping one type of RNG for another RNG really? I watched your HHR breakdown vid, but still didn't feel it explained this. Except you can win higher jackpots with smaller bets, which just seems to make HHR games more preferable to Class 3 Reply

hi, i play at The Brook, and honestly i follow cowboy slots on the low budget hand pay method and treat them like 'slots' and i've noticed that .25 hit better than .01 so,, idk, but they aren't slots the machines pick horse and 6-12 random races depending on the machine, so i would just take the advice of low dedom and lower betting and just have fun

I’ve been playing at a horse racing type casino in VA because currently that’s all we have. I’m wondering if you know how their handpay requirements are governed? I’ve hit several handpays between $1200-6k. Recently I hit a $1460 win - and the game continued (without paperwork). Then a month or so later I hit a win for $1165 which triggered a hand pay…. I was confounded. When I asked the attendant, she said it was because the win was over 300 times my bet, which triggers the jackpot mechanism in the machine. WEIRD?!
