What a great vlog. William just seems to do everything so effortlessly. There was a flying change there you would have missed if you weren't watching closely. His comment about race horses being in a herd, and eventers going alone was very thought provoking. Absolutely true and something to think about when retraining. Wonder how Ember would go on in Williams hands for a week! 😊 .

@MissJools11 thank you for being so succinct with your hash tag! (You might have to look up what that means ). I never mentioned William riding Ember, I just said it would be interesting to see what he would do with him. Sorry Emily, you have followers who make such stupid comments.

So wonderful! I've had the pleasure of meeting William twice in South Carolina. Such a wonderful person and so kind! This was so interesting. I love how they wait for the TB's to mature in the UK. I wish the US would start doing the same! And I love how you set them up for a future career 👏 👏👏👏! Ours start racing at 2, so they are started at 1 1/2 years of age. Way to young and no where near physically ready. It really takes a toll on their joints. ❤❤❤ Thank you for this opportunity to see behind the scenes of not only a legendary rider but alsoa peak into the sport of racing in the UK. ❤❤❤ Well done!

Having worked in racing for 20 years and re school about 15 racehorses to be riding horses I really enjoyed this vlog 👍 good job. In my experience the main benefit to starting racehorses ‘properly’ (so teaching them everything William was explaining) is soundness, it without doubt helps keep the wheels on for longer. The best prevention for injury is a balanced supple even way of going and to engage their core, as William said about the jockeys it’s the same for the work riders there is only so much you can do with short stirrups going at speed in a straight line! I’m currently re training one but he’s for keeps! I’m hoping to give eventing a go I have been watching your vlogs since I re homed him, I'm completely hooked… between all you ladies vlogging I could actually get rid of my tv 😂 x

Parklane Hawk was a NZ Thoroughbred, he briefly raced in New Zealand. He then evented in NZ with a rider called Matthew Grayling, He won a National Title at 3* (now 4*) and was sold to one of Williams owners and went on to win Burghley 5*!

@@emdeventing He certainly was, I was the National Three Day Eventing Championships when he won his National Title, he was then sold from underneath Matthew Grayling and left NZ for the UK. Also Parklane Hawk's sire Grosvenor was well known for producing Eventing Horses, if you had a Horse sired by him, you knew it was going to jump!!
