its so inspiring to me how tawnee and jason literally met at age 9 and have been together ever since, then started a huge horse rescue 10 years later to save hundreds of those helpless gorgeous horses. it sounds like something out of a movie, but thats true love right there and i wish i could have that :)

I just recently bought a horse off a kill lot 2 months ago, I already had 2 mares but decided I wanted to rescue this time around. She is the sweetest, most willing and kind horse. Slaughter and kill pen horses absolutely make the best family. They have so much love to offer because, like my mare, they know you rescued them.

I've been watching your videos for awhile now and it lifts my heart to see these loving wonderful animals rescued from slaughter. I drove my parents crazy rescuing every kind of animal. Horses stole my heart tho.I had saved up my money and rescued a 10 yr old pony stallion with one eye when I wss 11. He was a mess but I loved him dealy.When I tried to make him do something he didn't want to do, he'd toss me on my butt...carefully tho.Usually what I'd ask him to do was stupid.I learned from him. This video touched my heart and sent me down memory lane,all those great horses,the smell of the trail,swimming with our horses in summer,trekking thru snow in winter. I can't ride anymore,bad back, but I'm retired now & Have time. I'm going to rescue an old horse that deserves retirement too !!! It's time to give back.

Cynthia, never give up on your dream. It can happen. I believe for every person who loves horses, there is a ‘heart horse’ waiting for them. It took me 29 years to find him,. It took the will of God, lots of dreaming, hoping, and praying and the work of my own two hands to finally have my dream. While neither of us are children anymore, we are growing older together. At almost 32, I still don’t have my farm and my horse is boarded at a wonderful facility; but every day I’m that much closer to finally taking him home with me. Dream big and always have hope.

aw, Cynthia, I wish you were my neighbor- I'd share my horses with you. I loooved horses growing up and got piano lessons 🤮. But when I graduated from college, already married and a new mom, Dad gave me $300 for a horse!! I went to work for IBM, and a year later, at 22, I bought my dream. 🐎 I'm 75 now, living near Yosemite, and have only NOT had a horse for 3 days in all that time. I havent had it all easy-peasy, but I have been blessed. You ever in California, theres a guest room for you here. ❤🐎❤

Aww. Cynthia, I feel ya in that. I'm almost fourty and never had a horse (ever) e or even a dog in my adult life (can't afford them) I do have two boys though and we foster kittens when and where we can since we can't have cats either (I did for about twelve years but allergies and vet care got to be too much so I had to give them up) so that's why I foster kittens when I can and try to get donations for cat food etc as needed so I can at least give the kitties a chance at a forever home while I try to find a way to get my forever home (hopefully one suitable for multiple animals one day and maybe even foster or adopt a few more kiddo's.) I still wanted two daughters at least and more kids if I can manage them. As many kids and pets as can be managed! That was my motto/goal. Stillworking on it though.

Look into leasing it’s a great option if it’s a part lease you have the horse as “yours”, however the owner has all th responsibility of the vet bills feet feed etc. but you help with bills and get to play. Many owners even let you use their tack. A win win.

I live right across the river from Mountainier Racetrack in West Virginia. This episode has totally made me open my eyes to all the trucks that i see every single day and wonder if theyre exactly that. I know that i will definitely be paying very close attention to the trucks and the people driving them. I recently saw a large horse trailer on St Rt 7 with 5 horses in it. They had left the dang windows open and the horses heads were a mere 2 or 3 feet from getting hit by traffic! When i waved them down i screamed at them to pull off and close them but they flipped me off. I tried to see the plates but i just couldnt read it so i just told the sheriffs dept where and what i saw. Sad thing is i bet they didnt even care enough to look. Thank you for sharing this and for all you guys do!!

I love watching your vid eos, but I do have a problem. When a male horse or any animal is catrated they are still a male. Everyone keeps saying that they are neutered. Neutr. means neither male or female. When a male animal is " so called neutered" they are still a boy. Please change your wording. Would be MUCH appreciated, it will teach the idiots out there. I can't believe they are allowed by law to treat these beautiful creatures of God this way. There is Karma and when they meet their maker, what will their answer be when God asks them, "What do you have to say for your behavior on earth?" Then they will be sent to Hell, because they had their chance to love these horses, and chose to hate.Hell awaits their souls and I hope they go sooner then later ! 🙏❣🙏

I worked in law enforcement. Animal control fell under my agency's jurisdiction. The people at the animal shelter would euthanize the animals then put them in "funny" poses and freeze them until the tallow plant would pick them up. I didn't find anything funny about it. Where is the dignity and love for these animals? Made me sick. There really should be a cremation plant at every shelter. It would help deter these kind of behaviors by those who are supposed to care.

People who criticize euthanasia of suffering animals do not make sense to me. How would letting an animal suffer be better than ending it painlessly? Honestly someone who is against euthanasia please explain your mindset to me because I don't understand it. When there is no chance an animal or even person will recover and live a quality life how is it better to prolong that suffering than end it?

I think ppl who are against euthanasia, are ppl who think u are euthanizing a perfectly good animal... Like, there are lots of shelters that will euthanize an animal bc they can't find a home for them, which is ridiculous... But in this case, euthanizing an animal is perfectly okay, bc the animal is suffering
@CHLOCHLOLP
@CHLOCHLOLP 3 жыл бұрын
@@mo0onsh0t i can actually understand kill shelters perspective as well, many of the animals they save are suffering on the streets or on decrepit farms until they take them in, and they have to make room for other animals suffering on the street. I can see how its more sympathetic to reduce the population to a number where there is only enough pets for people who want to own them, than to let the problem continue, but I also understand the perspective of trying to make the most of an individuals life. I guess its a matter of looking at an individuals suffering, or the suffering of a group, not that I think one perspective is right or wrong though, but I understand why kill shelters operate they way they do.
@CHLOCHLOLP

@@fourhorses9298 im sure their organization isnt perfect, and I guess I should read more about the details of how they evaluate animals, but still after this explanation Id rather an animal be euthanized even if the only reason is that they cant or wont care for it than be brutally beaten and killed at a slaughter house. Its better than the almost inevitable outcome for the animals if they werent there to euthanize them. Rescue is not a simple or easy process, and imo sometimes the most sympathetic thing to do is just end a life when you cant feasibly give that animal the quality life it deserves.
@Byvenic
@Byvenic 3 жыл бұрын
@@mo0onsh0t Many 'kill shelters' for whatever reason, are legally obligated to take in every animal surrended. I think it's something to do with government money but I don't live in America so I don't know. If the shelters have to keep taking in more animals and only have so much space there isn't much choice other than euthanasia. It's better than some potential outcomes at least.

Hi, I live in Ontario Canada and follow you on You Tube. When I moved to the small city I moved to I was horrified to discouver that there was a small horse slaughter house. The owners were sly, when people complained about the cruelty they would have to shut it down and then re open under another name. I worked through the Toronto Humane society and they couldnt keep them shut down I finally talked to a young man who had to work there as he couldnt find a job ad he informed me that the meat was sent for human consumption and wasnt ever inspected by health authorities because of this. You know they were shut down for good and never went back into business. . I wish I was close to you I would volunteer my time with you. I want to adopt horses but I cant affort $400-500 a month board Im on a pension. You are a wonderful person you are just great. please keepup the good work,

As soon as I found out they had their own crematorium I thought that shows their complete dedication to not just rescuing a horse, but rescuing it from pain. The last act of kindness any animal owner can do is have the courage and compassion to make sure it's euthanised humanely. Horses Plus may only own an animal for an hour or so but they do more for their briefly owned rescues than many people do for a pet they've had for 20 years.

God bless you all. Y’all are doing the right thing. I fully support what y’all are doing. I’m so glad somebody understands how much horse and donkeys need help at auctions I love horses and I’m looking to start trying to do what y’all do. When I can I work with horse for people who are going to take their horses to auction if they can’t get them to “ do what they want . I help the people and the horses. But what most people don’t understand that it’s not the horse half of the time it them because they don’t know what their doing. I’m only 14 but I help people do better with their horses and show them how to be around their horses. So the way I see it I am also rescuing horses from going to auction and even have to experience of being there. One day I will rescue horse from horses.

I fell off my horse years ago. I was dazed so mymother took me to ER. This was before CT scans, MRIs etc. The doctor checked me out and sent me home. I probably had a concussion, but was back in school the next day. I remember being in a daze like you for several hours. It was a weird feeling. Fortunately no other injuries.

Your videos are very helpful in getting word out, a few months ago I had no idea about the horrible things that happen at these auctions and in the slaughter industry and Im really glad you guys are so passionate about informing people because I, and probably a lot of other people, wouldn't even know about this issue if it weren't for your videos.

You are all amazing, wat you do for these horses is wonderful. Even if it is an end with a needle, its so much better than the fear and pain slaughter involves. Please keep up the work, and stay safe.

feeling chills - to have found you just now, at the exact time we are working towards building our new home and barns on inherited large property intended for animal rescue - specifically horses - something I've done alone for over 40 years now. Was praying to find something like you and yours. Thankful and amazed at the timing. Looking forward to speaking with your organization and learning more. Thank you for all you do.

Sending love, gratitude, admiration from Boston. Your channel has pushed me off the fence that ive been sitting on for 15 or so years, regarding how i will spend the rest of my life. I have been fostering dogs, one at a time, while working in a corporate office full time. Thanks to your inspiration, i'm now going to change my life so i can reacue large numbers. This is my calling and i dont want to look back when my life is over and regret spending it in an office, doing work that i dont love, and work that does nothing to end a creature's suffering. For everyone's information, nearly all the rescue dogs in the northeast and northwestern US are brought up in bus-loads from the south: TX, GA, SC, being the ones I hear most.

I have been binge watching your videos and this is the first time I have seen your first episode. You have found your true calling, it's not just a phase where an individual just says one day " in going to start a horse shelter". Then a few months later it all gets too hard and because of their lack of knowledge their horses are being rescued or end up in auctions. Your rescue shelter might just be the best in America. I am a true horse lover and would just like to commend you on your love for these beautiful animals, your courage, determination and your kind, gentle but firm personality. Your not a horse whisperer, your an horse Angel 😇. Be PROUD. 🐎💖
