I just did a lil research and found that A) horse shoes restrict blood flow of the whole leg because the hoof isn’t able to flex like it naturally does. B) the nails in the hoof open it up to bacteria. C) in the wild horses with bad hoofs naturally die because they are vulnerable to predictors, but by breeding without considering hoof genetics, we bring to life many horses that will live uncomfortably. D) the horses hoof will trim itself if the horse can walk outdoors with varying terrain. E) there is a horseshoe alternative that doesn’t cause damage and can be removed in a horse’s leisure time F) obviously the hoof industry will try to convince people horseshoes are necessary, the people speaking against horseshoes have nothing to gain. I invite you to research this, especially if you care about horses’ long-term health and comfortability.

brushing away lose material that forms when heating/cooling and treating it with the hammer the way he handles that brush, I'm pretty sure he is just beein fancy, same with the file flips, most files are absolutly fine taking away material both ways, they just do a better job in the intended orientation, for half a stroke its super unnecessary tho ^^
