my daughter rescued a lovely mare, who was quite saucy, heartbroken over the death of her previous owner. my daughter became pregnant, the mare changed dramatically-she knew and she mellowed almost instantly. these days, my grandson could sit between her feet if he wanted to - while the mare will not even twitch an ear, being so careful. love brought her back!

Several years ago, I went to visit my daughter in Michigan for the weekend. At the end of my stay, I noticed their black lab had begun to get more protective of my daughter. They'd told me they were trying for a child already. When I started chuckling, they asked why. I said, "You're pregnant. Congratulations." Then I had to explain why their dog was acting so strange. Two weeks after I got home, she called me and said, "You were right. I thought our dog was just being picky, but you nailed it." I don't mention the dog's name because I totally forgot about it. *Sigh* Was a good story to tell.
