Absolutely loved this video. Just shows what so many people see as a "naughty" horse to one that needs to go back to the basics and trust the human who is showing them what to do! My dream job ⭐🙌🐴

If people are not patient with their horses. And sometimes they expect too much in very short time. Good trainer, balance energy. 🧡

I may not be a technically good rider. In fact I spent the last year not riding. I spent that year connecting with my horse, looking to understand him. Looking to establish a relationship. Looking to escape from the human inequality that pollutes our world for a while. I guess I was one of those kids who wanted to be a cowboy. I wanted a smart horse like Cisco in Dances with Wolves! After a while I realised that Percy could read me better than I could read him. So it became very important to be very aware of my mood. No point trying to calm a horse if you are wound up yourself. Anyway, we are almost there. I know he would never hurt me and I know I would never climb on his back and make him jump over things. I do not subscribe to the "Never let the horse do what it wants to do"theory. It has been a long journey. Sometimes I drowned in a myriad of conflicting advice which made me feel confused and useless. But we have found peace and tranquility, in the valley, at Rabbit Catchers Powerstock

I have a 12 year old mare who is very cinchy but at the same time, is not worried about anything I am, doing. she is just a very snotty mare. BUT, I see bad behaviors coming from her when I step in stirrup to mount and I am worried she might turn and nip. I have desensitized each and every step as you have shown here but she still throws a tantrum. Other than treats, is there a way for her to see mounting as a positive experience?

I would also like to know how you trained by hand commands. Is this technically liberty? My horse does try very hard to follow instructions but I would love for her to trust me further where I do not have to have the lead on as you do here.

It's cool, but may I ask why do you just let the horse go running loose in the paddock with girths and saddles on while you're not paying much attention to the other horses?

all animals respond better to praise and rewards than negative reinforcement. shes training with treats the same way we train dogs and proving the results in the video.

Not a fan of "conditioned response" training (using food and a stick to keep yourself safe. Best left to dolphin/whale training??) Motivation with food is dangerous, especially if you plan to trust this animal to carry you!

Not a fan of this close minded thinking. Your old school ways aren’t good. This lady is doing everything just the way I train wild mustangs and they are the most trusted horses I’ve had .

@@julietennyson4689 Actually, not handfeeding treats is a NEW thing. The power of the release of pressure is a way more accurate way of telling a horse they did well. Handfeeding is a bribe when done this way, if you really need to treat them with food, put it in a bucket or on the ground. I've never seen a horse feed another horse!
