Another cool project idea! I like the shape of the flamed one but not sure I like the darkness of the flamed finish as much. Think maybe a little more contrast between the doors and other wood is more to my taste but still really cool idea! Love to watch you experiment and have fun! Can’t wait to see the “bunch of other projects” you have in the works. Birthday wishes!

@DocEE Hey there Eileen!!!! Hub didn't care for the dark either. I like it but agree that more contrast would look better. I have more horseshoes to experiment with!!!! I just completed two of the projects I had been working on for quite some time. Hope to get at least one of the videos edited and out soon!

Fantastic idea I must give it a try. Please don't think it is a criticism but I wondered if the wood boards might look a little better vertical as they would be on a full size door. Have a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY and keep the videos coming. (UK)

Happy Birthday to you. After you clean the horseshoes if you spray WD40 on the metal it should not rust until you are ready to use them. when you use them just clean off the WD40 and their should not be any rust on them.

You are a real Nut, but a nice nut! Try making them with some of the rust showing to add character. Don't worry about the luck thing that only applies to found shoes that have come loose from a horses hoof, then you hang them above your front door or other doors if you've found more than one, with the open ends up to contain the luck! If the wood has really nice grain please don't hide it by blackening, use some stain if necessary and a clear finish to show off God's work that's in the wood! I enjoyed your video and gave it a thumbs up! Gabby

Ok, this is my honest opinion. I like the ideal with the horse shoes, but don't care for how you did it. I think the shoes should have been left as it, (weather look), and not a fan of burning, or not a much as you did on the juniper, burning just made the door and wood look the same. I think it would have been better to leave the juniper natural, or use a lighter color for the door to contrast. Also on the doors, maybe put a window on them. Just my opinion again. Looking forward to seeing what you have in store for this month. God Bless.
