Over 40 years and still make it look easy. Those shorts! I almost forgot you go pants less . And still no stand on the hinds, sir you are braver and tougher than I. I could trim and nail on 20 sets in one day it’s the clinching and finishing that tears my back up. I’m sure breaking my back didn’t help at all.
@garyhuston5 жыл бұрын
You need to put up a video to show me how to use it for the hinds. I have tried but can't figure out where my legs should go!

Okay I’ve watched like 4 shoeing videos today and I’m genuinely interested to know: how do you sharpen the curved tools you use to scrape the very bottom layer of hoof off?
@garyhuston5 жыл бұрын
IKnowMyWorldWars if they are in need of a serious sharpen I first use a Dremel then a polishing wheel. If it’s just a weekly touch up then either a diamond stick or the polishing wheel.

I've been watching your other videos (and am very surprised at how pleasant it is to watch the process). I notice you haven't ever talked to the horses, they simply lift their hooves as you approach them. Do you not talk on purpose or is it just so banal an event that none of the parties can be bothered?
@larrybrown60685 жыл бұрын
Most horses are fine with what ever you do, but you have to do what ever the horse needs. My husband does one that he has to sing to for all 4 feet and then she's fine.

100 thousand subs! Woo Hoo! Been here since approximately 10 k or so. Doggie treats! Edit: Do you forge the spent shoes for reuse or decorative items? Have personally made a lot of coat hooks, etc. Also good for hoof scrapers. RSVP Another edit: Berries should be getting about ripe soon. Will you be making more preserves this season? Or a nice wine? Or if the wine goes off, a vinegar worthy of salad dressing or grilling seasoning?
