People always assume that it's easy to get my horse from the field,like she comes running to me. I'm over here like "nope! Mostly she looks at me till I get close then runs away...I love her though." Then they say well that mean the horse doesn't like you. No,no it doesn't. It just means she wants to play and that she is a butt.

What was the part with the two shoppers about? I don't get it. I did get the one where the guy pulls a pen out from his field jacket and with it came a handful of hay. I was buying a burger at a local greasy spoon in Middleburg, VA one day after I'd been out trail riding and when I pulled my wallet out from my field jacket, along with it came strands of hay, a handful of horse-hair and some crumbled up bits of horse treats. I heard someone in line behind me say "Now, THAT's a horseman!". I was kinda flattered.
@prettyponybaby20078 жыл бұрын
+CaesarInVa Its the fact that not everyone rides and they think its gross that we go out in public smelling like horse. Ive just learned not to give a damn
@sarahmoran96318 жыл бұрын
It's when a rider goes into public and since they have probably been at the barn all day they smell. Dom was supposed to be the random person that doesn't ride and gets grossed out when jimmy walked by.
@CaesarInVa8 жыл бұрын
Ohhhh!!!! I should have picked up on that....my wife reacts the same way when I get home from riding. It's like "Either shower NOW or go to the basement" (which is where the den and fireplace are). Of course, I always opt for the later of the two choices. After all, its a CLEAN kind of dirty!!!

So sick of being asked if my horses are used for racing. The fact they have just been told that I own an aged, chubby Highland Pony doesn't stop this happening. When I still had my aged Thoroughbred, I would be able to tell them that one of my horses formerly raced many years ago. Most people just felt embarrassed when they realised the stupidity of their question. I think that they simply weren't listening when I told them about the horse(s). Kind of annoying when they ask and don't listen.
@stephtoms64449 жыл бұрын
Also growing hay over paddock fences into the wind, and getting hay all over you! It so funny because you end up with more then the horse! Also if you have to go someplace after the barn and you turn up with hay and horse slobber on your shirt!

The smell thing is so true. I had been out to the stable one day and on the way home I picked up a friend of mine who needed a ride somewhere. I had my saddle and a couple pads in the back seat. Even though I had the car's top down (Mustang, of course), my friend sniffed a couple times, scowled and said "It smells like HORSE in here!" to which I replied "Yeah. Pretty cool, huh?"

Once when I had to do a group project for school we went around the group sharing information about our selves and when of the things we needed to share was the sports we do so this is what happened: Me: I do horse back riding Person: Don't you do any REAL sports? Me: No comment just no comment
@lilliegould62367 жыл бұрын
I would of turned around and said: No I don't have any time to do "real" sports as horse riding is difficult. I spend all my time with my horse trying to perfect everything through blood, sweat, and tears. I am sorry I don't do any "real" sports.
