Vere John was a pioneer promoter, a white Jamaican from Mandeville. After his passing in 1966 ed Bim Lewis tried to pick up where he left off. This met with modest success. Later, Clancy Eccles attempted to continue but failed. We still talk about Vere John’s Opportunity Hour.
