And Hinata is learning more as a ball boy than he would playing, and Washijou-sensei knows that. Why do you think he keeps yelling at him to watch the ball and pay attention? Just to clarify, it was never sayd that the tiny giant had an huge vertical jump, the thing we know he was freaking good at was his ability to read the block, hit it, and send the ball far away (like Takeru from season 2). Hoshiumi jumps so freacking high that he just spiked over the blocks of two dudes from Nationa Training camp, they for sure have at least 1,80, that's pure "strenght". He also has a very high overall skill-set, he's the Ushiwaka version of a short person, the ultimate goal for Hinata to beat.

Hyakuzawa is a really nice character, and I'm kinda sad that most reactors don't recognize him from the Kakugawa match (I also really like his voice and facial expressions, but that's just me lol), he is basically a reversed version of Hinata, he has no experience and his basics suck, everyone is always trash-talking him because his height poses a disadvantage (yes, Hyakuzawa's height is also a disadvantage because he reacts slower and even when his reach is wider than most, he still has trouble controlling his body) and he is a key point in the offense for his team so he gets a lot of pressure, litterally a quiet and tall version of Hinata

People don't trash talk his height. If anything they might say he doesn't make use of that height. Lots of 190-200 cm players can be agile and even if they aren't as fast as a Hinata their length makes up for that. It's exclusively his skills and experience that are lacking and even still Washijo invited him because he, like Hinata knows you can learn skills but you can't teach height. There is a reason people want skilled tall players not skilled small players. Hyakuzawa has similarities for sure but Hinata's will and unyielding desire to compete is built from him being short while Hyakuzawa originally thought volleyball was a simple sport until his reality was crushed and ego was shaken to the core. They are as different as they are similar, but every character is written well in Haikyuu. Just things like "everyone is always trash-talking him because his height poses a disadvantage" are simply not true.

Soo we seen like 4 kind of setters so far. 1. Team's brain supported by their defense. Just like Nekoma's Kenma and old Dateko's setter. They take a time and slowly find blind spot of opponents. 2. Designed to set to Ultimate Ace. Akaashi of Fukurodani is great example. Also we can name Shiratorizawa's setter. They must give best possible set to their left canon mostly. 3. Current Kageyama style. Try to set to all team members with most easy to spike tosses. 4. At last superstar greatking level. When Oikawa on court he sure makes team better by helping team to go all out Kageyama called goody two-shoes because he is not trying to make team better but trying to give most easy convienent tosses. Other words he is not playing for superstar great king style. :)

Just to add to the reason he wears the mask, it is a staple or a normality to wear a mask in Japan(I won’t speak for other asian countries as I’m not from there). But back in Japan it was normal to see people wear one as I did as well at some points. Just for the simple reason of health!

The reason for kageyama making the face he did is because of atsumu calling him a "goody two shoes", it really bothered him a lot...you will see it play out. Also washijou is a very interesting character. He has internalized inferiority...he couldnt be what hinata is and so he believes in his "old ways," so to speak. Hinata has to prove himself...
