I am a 44 year old white girl who grew up on the corner of South Capitol Street and Mississippi Ave SE. My summer evenings on Friday & Saturday nights were filled with the sounds of the gogo club a block over. Them young folk don't know a thing about Da Butt. I was the only white girl doing it at school dances. To this day I still get surprised looks. I love my city. I loved that community that accepted me as one of their own even though I was the minority. I love this tribute to DC and to gogo. All that was missing was some folks playing on some paint buckets.
