I managed to successfully install nginx-proxy-manager via Portainer on my Oracle cloud instance, but it was tricky. Some users might find such a video useful. The iptables rules that you edited, is this the same as editing the Ingress Rules in the Oracle dashboard? Thanks!

Thanks for the recommendation. I am not much of a nginx guy, I usually use apache or ha-proxy but I will take a look at it. The iptable rules are separate from the ingress rules on oracle console. The Ubuntu on Oracle comes with iptables enabled by default and it only allows connections on port 22 so you need to open ports on both places.

how does oracle make money from this ? they're literally giving users 24gb of ram and 4 cores for free

Since Oracle joined the already established cloud market about a decade after the other big players like AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud. I am pretty sure this is their strategy on getting their foot in the door. What better way to get people to try and get hooked on your product than giving them "always free" limited samples. 😉 It will be interesting to see how it plays out.
