Shepards Pie Recipe
Crisp 1/2 lb bacon in a large frying pan.
Leave a small amount of grease in the pan
sauté 4 diced carrots, diced onion, and a half stalk celery diced.
Once onions are translucent sauté 6 cloves minced garlic until fragrant.
Add 2lbs ground beef and cook all the way through. Drain all the grease.
Add salt, pepper, four pats of butter, and one 6oz can tomato paste and mix.
Add a 16oz can of dark (or light) ale beer, 1 TBL Worcestershire sauce, 1 tsp thyme, 1 tsp rosemary, 1 tsp oregano and a small bag of frozen peas.
Let this simmer long and slow until it's the thickness you like. I like to simmer out almost all the liquid.
Top with mashed potatoes. Mix in shredded sharp white cheddar for a beautiful flavor!
Add your potatoes to the top of your meat mixture and bake at 375° for about 20 min or until it looks golden.
