So accustomed to the rumble of the caravan and the rush and howl of air at the door that I'd imagine on my first balloon jump (A licensed baby bird here), the silence of the climbout and exit is gonna be weird AF! Hahahaha!

When skydiving you almost always need a wide angle either a .3 or a .5 wide angle since you're usually filming subjects from 5 to even 1 feet distance. If the distance is greater than that that usually means you're filming more people but again you'll still need a wide angle. The whole idea is to capture as most as possible while being as close as possible. Also note, no skydiver who films can actually see what is being filmed (no viewfinder or anything) thus a wide angle again helps with this. I'm a skydiver myself and have never seen anyone go up without using a wide angle lens, it wouldn't make much sense and would only be a limiting factor. The drawback is of course far away distances are warped and also look further away than they really are but that's not an important issue when filming a skydive.

Fish eye what you call it, while it's actually a wide angel lens, are a necesssity in skydiving. You try filming subjects from 3 ft away while not having a viewer to see what you're filming. No skydiver in existence will use lenses that are suitable to film far away landscapes, it would make no sense at all.
