I think that Kelly understands the history of Foreigner and the importance of Lou Gramm. It’s got to be a little strange for Lou and Kelly, but I think there is a lot of mutual respect there. Too bad more fans don’t get that. Two of my favorite singers ever

Thank you for defending Mr. Kelly Hansen. In interviews, He's a very nice guy and yes I think he's doing a great job just like Arnell Pineda as new Lead Singer for Journey. No one can deny that Lou Gramm and Steve Perry are two of the greatest Rock and Roll singers of all times but Kelly Hansen and Arnel Pineda both respect the Original Lead Singers and are just doing a great job bringing the music back to life from these two insanely popular bands for fans to enjoy and attend concerts to celebrate the collection of songs and have fun. That's all!

Anyone complaining about Kelly Hanson being out there didn't see Lou 10 years ago. Lou has come back from the brink of death literally and he sounds a helluva lot better now than he has in years. Kelly was hired to replace the Lou that couldn't sing. No sin in that.

Nobody stays perfect and nothing lasts forever. The management did an awesome job in picking Hansen for Gramm's overall replacement, when Lou could no longer give his best performance for the fans to make it worthy, not to mention it wasnt in his best interests. Nothing will ever replace Foreigner's original sound they had in their prime, but their spirit has lived on.
@uncleelmer6 жыл бұрын
This is not about whether or not Hansen can perform Lou and Mick's songs. This is about showing respect for a legend in rock, Lou Gramm, and not dancing, singing and jumping around on stage during his performance. Lou Gramm is a living legend and has earned the respect to be treated that way. There is absolutely no need to for Hansen to be on stage in the presence of Lou.

@@uncleelmer You are making a case for someone to specifically NOT rock out while one of the world's greatest rock and roll singer's is singing? Good grief. Furthermore, it seems you haven't read the papers. The reason Kelly was out there was specifically because Lou wanted him out there. Lou and company played a few songs on their own and then the rest of the current band joined in. Kelly and Lou are incredibly good friends and Kelly's respect for Lou is the reason they can rock out together without egos getting in the way.

Lou is proving once again what a class act he is. He knows all too well Kelly is having to copy his phrasing, and everything that made us love Lou. That's Kelly's job. My guess is it's Mick Jones. In his heyday, few singers came close to Lou's skill and abilities. Kelly knows it too.

Fantastic. So great to see the old and new lineups together. Was privileged to see Foreigner a couple of months ago and they were truly amazing. Kelly is a great front man and, while it must be difficult for him to live in Lou’s shadow, it’s great to see him and Lou sharing the stage.

Robert Wagner and that’s your opinion and you’re entitled to it. The sad fact is Lou can’t do what he used to be able to and, while his voice continues to improve, he does look a little like your embarrassing uncle at a wedding while up on stage. That’s not to take away from everything he did in the past. Kelly is a classic rock and roll frontman with great stage presence and an awesome voice and Mick has assembled a first class band to keep the Foreigner catalogue alive. I feel lucky to have seen them live a couple of months ago.

Unbelievable that Mick could not have members of the cover band stand down for even a few songs, so fans of 'real' foreigner could enjoy the moment without it being spoiled. This is not about how good Kelly is, or is not, nor any comparison. Those are ALL Lou songs that 'new Foreigner' sings every show. Cover band. Period. Us real Foreigner fans have been dying for this moment, denied us for so long... Kelly should have had some class and stepped aside for just a few songs. Would have been classier. I'd have respected 'new' Foreigner more if they actually put out a few albums and that was the content they played. Like what VH did when Sammy joined. New musicians playing all old songs is literally the definition of a cover band. If they are good, or not, is not the question. Good lord that was cringe when Kelly thought he had to teach Lou cowbell. Lou is a rock legend who never had to sing other people's songs.
