As a Return of Superman fan, I believe Donggook raised his kids wonderfully though. He knows when he is in the wrong, and personally, for Jaesi to confidently say what she said knowing that her father is listening is testament to her confidence in her parents love for her

It's weird, isn't it? I thought TROS about fathers/parents and children. This scene or moment is supposed to happen in TROS, it doesn't matter how old the children.
@Xhin2293 жыл бұрын
Yeah. If Donggook was a bad dad, Jaesi wouldn't even dare to utter her honest thoughts and feelings because she would be afraid to be scolded or punished after.
@Fartsquad_2 жыл бұрын
@@jiecao9323 age does matter, the concept of TROS is seeing dads taking care of their baby children without the aid of mothers for like a day or two. Once kids hit a certain age, they become more independent. Especially kids approaching close to pre teen years such as 9 or 10, do not want their parents to be hovering over them anymore. Korean kids also mature pretty quick, I’d say. At that age, they probably don’t want to be even be filmed for days like that anymore as they actively go to school and have many friends. It’s only YOU that want to keep seeing them.., please consider their lives too.
@telletubby8070 Жыл бұрын
@@jiecao9323 not necessarily. because jaesi and jaeah were already really mature for their age when he first joined TROS and they helped a lot. like A LOOT in taking care of the little one. So it will kinda lose the purpose of him joining TROS to take care of his children without the help of another family member. Besides by that time they were in the pre-teen age so they probably chose not to be around camera that much and I remember they did have a lot of school/outside school activities so they probably didn't have time as much.

I like the way Dongkook raises his children its called tough love and it prepares them for the real world where its not a fairytale. That sibling jealousy that's in every family. It's normal to feel that way at some stage in your life. Also its normal for children to be closer to one of the parent's just like in my family i love both of my parents but i'm closer to my dad but yeah love this beautiful family. The older girls are growing fast in to beautiful young ladies.

Actually I already felt whatever she said here when I watch tros when they are both playing tennis with their father. I saw how happy she is for her sister achievements and how her father praised her sister and she was always at the back or side of her sister while her father always focused on her sister but I'm very proud of her at that time because she keeps smiling even though I knew deep inside she's jealous on her father's attention with her twin sister.

I've watched them since they started TROS, & I think the issue is that Jaeah has always been confident of her passion & has her future kinda set out already, & since it's sport related her parents (esp Donggook) are extremely proud of her. Jaesi I noticed didn't seem to have a set life goal, at the beginning of TROS she played tennis with Jaeah, then another time she was suddenly into modelling instead. It's good that she spoke up about her feelings, she's still young so she has time to figure out, and now her parents know to focus on helping her finding her goal too.

Dr Oh's words are so refreshing.. Jeasi and Jeah grow up beautifully... at their age, it's common to feels like that.. feeling need of attention.. jealous with each other..and they are having a hard time to express their feelings especially to their parents.. i can relate to that.. Jeasi is a strong girl to keep her feeling.. she is being considerate when her father giving more attention to Jeah.. i hope she open her heart more... as for Donggook.. all of us know that he is doing a good job being a father.. being a father of five is quite hard especially when u tried to give same attention fairly.. but sometimes the kids feels differently..

Its really interesting to hear her side and feelings. It would also be interesting to hear her sisters side too. I'm sure they both have insecurities especially since both of them have amazing talent. Modeling and sport. I'm sure they both have things they feel from each other. I agree that the dad should have paid equal attentions to the girls but since we're seeing one side we shouldn't forget that her sister may also feel the same about different things.

I'm tearing up while watching. Love this family since TROS. I respect donggook and his wife, I believe they're doing a good job raising their kids. It's not that easy having many kids, you really need to know them because they have different personalities (I have 2 boys that's why I know it 🙂), so you really need to have communication, understanding and respect to your kids as well. ❤❤

I like Dr. Oh's analogy of the sun and the moon, when describing the differences between Jae-ah and Jae-si. Like the sun and the moon, they are both important, but who can say which one is more important. They each have their own strengths and ambitions. I believe Jaesi is still searching for hers. Dr. Oh is absolutely right. Whoever has the problem should solve the problem and they should be listened to, and have their concerns understood. I found this video very enlightening. I've watched quite a few of their shows, and had no idea that Jae-si felt the way she does. I can see where, as an outsider, I could miss this side of her, but not to have her parents, or her twin, taking notice, makes me sad. They are a great family and I'm glad this has come out in the open. It's an eye opener. Dong-gook should remember this advice, from Dr. Oh, when dealing with the younger twins, Seol-ah and Soo-ah.

Jaesi did a great job in communicating her feelings despite knowing her dad is next door. And I bet Jaeah have her own baggage to carry. It breaks my heart knowing that she actually asked Jaesi to stop doing sports because she felt insecure. It's not easy knowing someone, let alone your own twin is better than you in doing what you love the most especially when Jaesi's passion didn't lie there. I hope she could talk about her feelings to her family as well. But Jaesi is a really great big sister. And I understand DongGook's perspective on Jaesi wanting to try a lot of things since he's lived most of his life as an athlete. Considering an athlete is a career which needs to start as early as possible whilst other careers have bigger room for trials and errors. But kudos to him for still supporting Jaesi in trying all the stuff she wanted to try tho. It's not easy to raise 1 kid, but he did great in raising all 5. The fact that Jaesi can express her feeling well with her dad next door shows how much of a 'safe place' her family is for her. And I love how Donggook is consistently always trying and fixing himself to be a better father even tho he's already a great father himself. All of his kids grew up beautifully.

I’m glad that dr oh was there to explain and break things down for them. Years ago when Dong gook’s family came out on TROS I had already felt the attention was unbalanced on both sets of twins, dad was more inclined towards Jaeah and Sua, but mostly on his son Sian. I felt that Jaesi might have been left out because dad was trying to groom a future tennis player in her other twin, just like he conquered football. I hardly saw many interactions between Jaesi and him so I assumed they weren’t that close, but here I’m surprised to know that she communicates the most with him. From what I see, Jaesi is more of an explorative person who has many interests, and with such people they’re prone to indecision and messiness. I’m the same and I appreciate Dr oh for speaking on Jaesi’s behalf because she’s still at an age where there are many things she could be but doesn’t know how to explain that. It’s somewhat true that parents tend to support children who show persistence, makes them think that you really want this and are not the half hearted sort, so they invest more in you. Jaeah’s trophies became his pride and accomplishments, his daughter is something to show off to the world, and being an athlete himself he will naturally be more proud of her. Because they’re both in sports, they’re competitive, they’re consistent and hardworking types. That’s probably why Jaesi felt closer to her mom and didn’t confide in her dad, it’s something that concerns bias which is hard to talk about. That also shows the distance between Jaesi and dad, even though they communicate the most, he is unaware of her feelings and struggles. Although I think dong gook is a good father, there are many areas where he can improve on, and the fact that they have a separate group chat is an indication that he’s not doing things that the women approve of. But I applaud him for taking the time out to come with Jaesi and listen, men don’t often know how others feel so it has to be directly spoken for them to understand. She grew up feeling less loved and sad, so if you don’t put equal attention on your children they might turn to resentment/jealousy/hatred. Talk more with them to build the relationship, to show you care, to listen and not give advice unless they asked for it. Sometimes people just need you to be there, not tell them what to do. Jaesi also has to learn that dong gook can’t always agree with her thoughts, if something isn’t right then we can’t expect others to side with us no matter what we are feeling, there are reasons for things turning out the way they did.

I'm also the same age as the twins and even I have a twin sister. I love to make artworks, explore different styles, I like photography, I make sketches and I'm a little bit calmer than my twin. She suffered a lot last year on her own because she was feeling all these insecurities which I didn't know until this year beginning. People always ask us who's more smarter or naughtier than the other and stuff, and since I'm very talkative I used to tell others my opinion of her as if I knew what she exactly is and that hurt her a lot, we had a lot of misunderstandings. And I was a bit more popular because of the art I made and the photos I took and even my guests all praised me a lot and asked if my sister also did these stuff. She had identity crisis which no one could identify. She found her love for poems, films, fashion,etc and we don't share the same interests. We are like the Sun and Moon, who rely on each other but we are unique in our own ways. No one apart from twins knows what it means like go have their own identity, people don't see us as individuals but "the twins". After a lot of fights, we talked everything out and along with my mom and brother's help, we have a very very healthy relationship with each other and family too. I think these misunderstandings only led me to be where I am today, I can empathise with others too and understand my problems better too.
