Lent began yesterday on Ash Wednesday. Hot cross buns were traditionally made to be eaten on Good Friday. The cross on the buns symbolises the Cross that Our Lord carried on his way to Calvery for his crucifixion. Love your channel ❤

Try a hotcross bun with. Bacon on it. It's a very enquired taste, you will either love or dislike it. The sweetness of the fruit and saltiness of the bacon is amazing together. I absolutely love them. I agree it has to be M&S. Tesco extea fruit ones are nice too.

I sat down and watched this with a Tesco caramel and chocolate hot cross bun, which were really nice but i agree you cant beat the traditional hot cross bun and m and s are amazing with there traditional hot cross buns. Nice video Becky lovely to see your mum and dad. We like the traditional M&S hot cross bun lots of flavour and fruit. My hubby is Greek Cypriot and loves hot cross buns he has named them Easter bread. I tried Tesco raspberries with white chocolate and it was horrible. Better to stay with the Classic. Xx

Oh how I'd love to sit down and do a tasting with you. The sense of warmth, fun and family I just adore. Now, as far as hot cross buns go I have them about once a year. As a foodie I'm very traditional and generally speaking never come across new flavours in most things that actually outdo the classics. There's a reason they're classics after all. I tend not to like Asda cakes and bakes much at all and your review reflected my feelings. However, one thing that I went out of my way for to Asda at Christmas was the Extra Special Christmas pudding. It had had stunning reviews and so I went for it and it was absolutely delicious. Now if only Asda could replicate that excellence across the board I'd go more often. Your vid has now made me hanker after M&S hot cross buns! Hi Wendy! Hi all!

I am definitely a "bottom" girl for hot cross buns and also a traditionalist - not a fan of the current trend for exotic flavours. I agree with which ever one of you said, "If it ain't broke don't fix it". Raisins, sultanas, and spices are all you need. If they get too "luxurious" they somehow lose the essence of their hotcrossbun-ness and get a bit too cakey for me. Enjoyed seeing the three of you together, it was like having you in my kitchen as I had my "fly cup". Fly cup is a Scottish term for cup of tea, with or without a snack. Think the "fly" bit is because it is quick, sneaky cuppa, like a few minutes stolen away from what you are doing.
