Here is my take & might answer some of the questions.. Modern Science, Philosophy, Religion, Spirituality, Law... .---these are all interwined which result in faith.. The proportionality of these components can vary from people to people which change over time as well.. It doesn't mean one is right & other is wrong. And it's really stupid if one tries to directly fit Modern Science into Religion and vice versa.. In this case, it is very evident Ashish Arora's faith derives more from Spirituality & Bhakti Vedanta philosophy...

Hare Krishna prabu When we say gross matter, it is generally referred to something that we can see.Mind ,intelligence we cannot see ,so we call them subtle..But in science we talk about atoms,protons, electrons.These also we cannot see.Are they subtle ? if yes then they are discussed in science too. We cannot see subatomic particles due to their microscopic size which is invisible due to underdeveloped apparatus. But you cannot see mind ego intelligence due to their subtlety not size.

Atoms, electrons, protons are not visible just to the naked eye but they are visible under the microscope. Prabhuji is talking about things that are subtle and can't be seen under any instrument for eg mind, the discipline of psychology states that mind is not a physical object or organ like the brain but it still exists which has been proved thru a no. Of experiment. Also if we want to understand soul or consciousness the eg given is 1stly a body without consciousness is a dead body right, now just as smoke or heat is the symptom of fire consciousness is the symptom of soul The energy of the soul, or self, is produced in the shape of consciousness.
