There's literally so many callback's in this movie (more even than mentioned here) that basically every line is important. It's fantastic on the second, third and even the hundredth viewing for that exact reason. Marvelous film.

Edgar Wright cameos. He's briefly seen pushing a rack as Angel walks to Skinner's office the first time. Nick Angel is actually the music supervisor on the film. Edgar Wright and Simon Pegg's mums are two of the judges in the village of the year contest. The third is Wright's drama teacher (I think - maybe Peggs). The spray can throw is very similar to Crocodile Dundees. Zito spray cans honor action director Joseph Zito. Mr Treacher is named after The Siege At Treacher's Farm, the original title of Straw Dogs. Eve Draper (terrible Juliet) is an eavesdropper. Splat The Rat foreshadows Tim Messenger getting splatted by falling church masonry. Bill Bailey plays two different characters who read the same author, but different genres - Ian M Banks and Ian Banks> The fence shortcut in-joke, also extends to Worlds End. 'You wanna be a big cop in a small town, why don't you fuck off down the model village?' - Foreshadowing and a half. 'Bet you can't wait to jump into Sgt Popwell's grave' - and then he does. So... so... many!

In the beginning when Nicholas Angel arrest those kids who were in the pub, when he goes into the station the guy says "I see you've already arrested the entire village" Then Nicholas says "Not exactly", then later when he comes back to Sandford and defeats the farmer and farmer's mum, the farmer asks "What are you gonna do just go there and arrest the entire village?" then Nicolas replies with "Not Exactly"

Mr. Wembley (the old man who owns the sea mine) was initially approached by Angel because he cut down his neighbor’s hedge. Later, when they’re running away from the storage shed after they think they activated the mine, Danny and Angel jump over the hedge. They wouldn’t have been able to jump over it if Mr. Wembley hadn’t cut it down

Everybody in Sandford has a name that derives from some profession. I.e. Thatcher, Reaper, Blower, Tiller (extra points for her being a gardener), Cartwright, and Wainwright. The exception is Angel himself, and he’s name after the guy who supervised the music for the film.

One thing i noticed was some of the camera movements and shots mimic some scenes from the different action films Danny and Nicholas watch, for example There's a camera shot where the camera spins around the characters, mirroring the scene in Bad Boys II where they say "Shit just got real". Also, It's hinted at, that Simon Skinner was the one to kill Tim Messenger using a part of the church roof. Not only was he missing from the raffle but during the fight in the model village, he gets taken out with the top of the church spire in a sort of irony. There's also a subtle nod to Sean of The Dead with a Winchester rifle being above the bar in the pub.

There is one secret no one ever noticed. All 3 Cornetto films feature a pun scene, and the noise that the fruit machine made in Shaun of the dead that attracted zombies can be heard in the background of the other 2 films, in the first pub scene in hot Fuzz and in pub number 10 in the world's end.

Lets see. Angel becomes progressively more like Butterman (drinking beer, running a "personal errand" on the job, making sexual puns at Doris ect.) While Danny becomes more like Angel (using more and more proper vocab guidelines, blah blah blah you get it) One of the NWA members says he'll be popular with the local birds because he doesn't want to use a firearm. He catches the goose in the last act Angel tells the Andys to detect and one sarcastically mentions going through the phonebook starting with Aaron A. Anderson. The kid at the end actually has that name Tim Messenger is basically a Messanger. The other last names probably mean stuff too All the NWA members are known actors for playing antagonists and the Andys are reading books related to their characters. I put these two together because I read them somewhere. Im not to be credited for discovering these details Probably more I cant think of off the top of my head lol

Oh yeah, and, there's a jumping over a fence gag in each film and I bet if you look into it, the dates of birth for all the kids at the pub in the beginning pay homage to something. I could be wrong though

Another thing the part were he arests all the teenagers that were in the pub, when he goes in the guy there says "I see you have arrested the whole village" then he says "Not exactly" then later when he comes back to sandford and ties up two people they say "What are you gonna do just arrest the whole village" then he says Not exactly but more dramaticly

Skinner is impaled on the same part of the church that fell on the reporter. Filling the crosswords, the innkeeper yells at Angel "Fascist", and he replies "Hag", the same curses repeat during the shootout. When Angel wants to start a real investigation the Andies reply "shall we go through the whole phonebook? may I speak to Aaron A. Aaronson?", later, the kid at the model village is Aaron Aaronson.

In Volume 197 of Empire magazine (p.g. 88), Edgar wright mentions that he used to work at a Somerfield and once had to clean up Baby Vomit. At 27 minutes and 50 seconds into Hot Fuzz, Skinner tells His employee to clean up baby vomit.

You missed the part when angel helps the elder at the hotel when he arrives at the village and the lady asks help for the words hag and fascist on the crossword and angel helps her ( hag means ugly mean old lady and fascist I think means police officer or someone related to the law). Later in the final scene where angel and his buddy kill most of the elders he meets the lady again and she shoots them, yelling FASCIST! And when angel shoots her he says hag. This cameo was the only one I caught and I’m surprised you missed it Oh you also missed the part where the doctor is shot in the leg from a B.B. gun in the carnival because of angels friend and says “your a doctor, deal with it” and at the final scene his friend shoots the same doctor in the leg and says “your a doctor, deal with it” too

Another one is right at the start during Angel's police training montage - for the written exam he ticks 'C' on all of the answers lol also I could be remembering this completely wrong but I think in that same montage where he mentions holding the record on the 100 metre dash, thats a reference to Simon Pegg having the 100 metre record at his secondary school or something (I think he mentions it in his autobiography - but i haven't read it in years so could be wrong)
