Hot hen summer, getting organized, using up scrap yarn & shawl knitting: Summer DIY Vlog

Welcome to this mini vlog! I just wanted to give a bit of an update on what I've been doing, which hasn't been a whole lot. I'll also show you how to make a russian join in yarn (a great way to not have KNOTS in your knitting!) and I get started on a super easy shawl pattern.

My grandma made ponchos by sewing of your garter shawls together. My husband still wears it in winter 40 years later! I'm sorry to hear about the loss of your hen. It's been a brutal summer in the northern hemisphere this year. Hopefully, we miss out on all that heat in the upcoming summer here in Australia.

And I absolutely love that idea of sewing the shawls together to make a poncho...I keep threatening to make a poncho, but it hasn't happened yet...that might just be the perfect way!
