Look at that stupid (rtd.major) Who doesn't feel shy in all what revolution had brought to our country. I comment, and continue to comment,they shouldn't think Ghana belongs to them,it's only that some of us had found the truth,that made us forget about all this things. Look at him? I think he's been a drunk addict. Doesn't fit in the role of Army Officer,more or less a major. He is paying for all the evils done. Always blaming people,but aren't good too. Brought Ghana to her knees, Starting all over again,people are afraid to speak out,but I tell you the truth,they are the criminals,murderers and thieves of our nation. Forget about this man and his foolishness. Why is he still in politics?ask him.look your time has expired,it's time for all of you to repent and be save in the name of "YAHUSHUA," Don't forget Part of the nation Ghana are Hebrews, and part of the biblical ISRAEL. YAHUAH WILL JUDGE ALL ONE ☝️ DAY. What did revolution brought to our nation? Let's be frank,the Mark of the revolution. It had produced a bunch of thieves and criminals,look at the offspring (NDC). Ghana will never be okay on less that party disappear on the scene,believe me. Ask the major,what would have happened to NDC if we put her back to the 70s won't she fall,with all her members facing firing squad? Just look at the harm NDC had coursed? After revolution is that what we get?oh Ghanaians be honest and fear GOD by speaking the truth.

He did not. He was paid by Limann's government to make up that story. He was nowhere close to the action on June 4th but was running scared for his life, like all Captains were. It's a fiction many still believe today. During the 1980s, he spent his time in the UK trying to recruit people to come and do coup against the PNDC. Once that failed, he came back to reiterate this fiction to remain relevant and be used as indictment on the Rawlings regime. The real question is who his backers are. Those who broke Rawlings out were private and corporals from various groups that had formed organically during the May 15th trial. Many didn't even know Rawlings personally, but as leaders emerge, they identified with his cause, which the ruling SMC daftly kept reiterating, not realizing they were actually painting him as a man of honor rather than someone being tried for high treason. Once word got out that General Hamidu had signed Rawlings execution order for June 4th, soldiers realized if they left things, the man will be shot, and the corrupt leaders who had abused them for so long would be allowed their pensions and left to retire rich and fat with their ill-gotten wealth. So they sprung into action, and one group had the foresight to break Rawlings out of his BNI cell; which was fortunate or June 4th would have been led by a private or corporal and the violence that would befalling Ghana would have been 1000 times worse. We look at those days now like a traversty, but until you understand the circumstances around a revolution and the chaos one has to preside over, it is only academic discussion in the face of people who had to live it and guide it from the brink. Boakye Gyan's only role was communications, because that was literally all he was cut out for. He had no chemistry with the common soldier and his views were high-faluting, academic and void of human morality. Life was mere statistics to him. So Rawlings kept an eye on him, and used him for what he needed. After the 3months, Boakye Gyan took the bribe to leave and went to the UK. Rawlings, a Patriot, who had seen how precarious the country had been, chose not to go and instead wished to assist the government in maintaining the peace, even developing Revolutionary movements to use the energy of the youth in productive work, like farming. The government of Limann didn't seem to understand what had befalling the country, and instead chose to victimize Rawlings, not realizing they were reigniting tensions amongst the soldiers and students who identified with him. The final straw was their corruption, barely a year into governance and their undoing the gains of the Revolution, from Kalabule ri-emerging to properties seized from corrupt dealings being returned etc. It was for this reason, Amartei-Quaye decided in 1981 to lead a vigalente group to murder the 3 judges, expecting he'd have Rawlings blessing. He was mistaken and executed for it. The rest is history, except, an alternate history apparently, were Boakye Gyan is a hero, Rawlings killed the judges, as well as apparently 1000s of undocumented civilians during June 4th, and Amartei-Quaye doesn't exist in the records.

@@thevillager8240 I think this is a biased comment. Boakye Gyan was a key instrument in the '79 coup. You say Boakye Gyan is corrupt? How about rawlings ? Where did he get that gold for that gold shop in Switzerland where he went into partnership with the Swiss man? How did he become one of the richest ghanaians before his death? He and his people did worse and he should have been executed as well except that he surrounded himself mostly with soldiers from his tribe and who were (and still are ) dominant in the Ghana security forces. I believe you have had "favour " and benefited from the wrongful activity of rawlings and that is why you have been motivated to comment like this. It's a shame. Rawlings was foolishly jealous of the people he murdered and maltreated. His criminal party, national desperate criminals (NDC) , has died with him. You will see their end.

The argument that June 4th gave birth to democracy is ignorant, even silly. Ghana had a democratically elected government, which was overthrown in 1972. The military junta, led by Akufo and Kotei, decided in 1978 to return the country to democracy in 1979. The process was interrupted by the June 4th and Dec 31 coups. So how can you claim to be responsible for the current constitutional rule in the country? Ghana's democracy has nothing to do with Boakye Gyan OR Rawlings and the PNDC. If anything, the PNDC delayed Ghana's democracy for a whole decade (1982-1992).

Boakye Gyan forgot that it was his NDC party foot soldiers that started seizing toll booths and toilets. He also forgot that there were worse law breaking incidents during the rule of NDC and nothing was done. Even though that does not make it right for lawlessness to go on now, he is showing that he is a hypocrite.

He is the guy behind the 1979 coup, he organized it and his only mistake was to let Rawlings lead it. Bono people have always lead coups in Ghana. Your a fool Rawlings killed your brave little brother Kyeremeh Gyan. Boakye Gyan's uncles, Yeboah and Arthur were the first to organize a coup in Ghana to restore Nkrumah after he was overthrown but it failed the casualty of that coup was that kotoka. They were executed It was rumored that Afrifa used them and hence after the June fourth coup Afrifa was brought back from his village of kofi Asei Asante Manpongteng and executed at the Teshie firing range in Accra in revenge. The reason why NPP don't like him in their fold. Bono people are brave.
@oseitututawiah2109
@oseitututawiah2109 7 жыл бұрын
Please don't spread some foolish news with rumours. Both Arthur and Yeboah were executed under the command of Afrifa for killing Kotoka, but the 3rd guy Osei Poku was freed because he told all the truth about the attempted coup. Both guys were Bono but not uncles of Boakye Gyan, and they were not from the same family. Their coup was not to restore Nkrumah but to rule Ghana by themselves. Anyway, the first person to organize a coup in Ghana was Kwasi Kotoka and he was an Ewe, not a Bono. Again, Afrifa was not the leader of that coup. In the NLC, Afrifa was third in command, he only became the leader after Kotoka had died in the coup and his successor, General Ankrah who was a Ga, was filmed by a Nigerian journalist for collecting bribe to sell some Ghanaian assets to Nigerians. He therefore resigned and that's how Afrifa became Ghana's leader. The reason why Afrifa was executed by Rawlings was because he warned the then Ghana leader Brigadier Akuffo, that JJ will come back and kill them if they release him from jail. For this reason, he was the first person to be pursued when Rawlings was later freed by Boakye Gyan. He was captured in his farm at Krobo-Mampong, Ashanti, not Kofiase Mampong. Boakye Gyan became the enemy of JJ Rawlings because he and many of the other AFRC members accepted to receive some lump sum of money from Hilla Limann who was the then President to go and stay abroad for 4 years. JJ Rawlings refused to go, he later gathered another group of soldiers to overthrow Limann. That was his 3rd and last coup from which he ruled Ghana for the next 20 years. The NPP don't like Boakye Gyan because they know he is a snake who can turn around and bite you. Boakye Gyan is a first class opportunist.
@cheendo7400
@cheendo7400 7 жыл бұрын
Okay l wasn't going to answer you because you started by insulting, but I want to make this clear to you it was the CIA who organized, masterminded the 1966 coup that overthrew Kwame Nkrumah's government and not by Gen Kotoka. As a matter of fact general Kotoka wasn't that sophisticated enough to organized the 1966 coup. He wasn't even the main guy talking about the traitors, who were paid and help by the CIA to kick Nkrumah out. The then IGP Halley was the main guy followed by Afrifa, others and Kotoka. Kotoka was cornered like a rabbit at the grounds of our current international Airport in Accra and killed his dick was cut off and put in his mouth by Yeboah and Aurthur in a failed coup attempt to reversed that coup. They did it without the help of any external agency. That fools name was put on our Airport which I thick it should be removed.

Kotoka was not killed during the Nkrumah Coup. That Coup succeeded, he came out to make the announcement that he was the leader of NLC and Ghana and he explained why he did it. You sound like the Ewes who deceived so many people during this period for so many years because most of them used to live in Accra and Ghanaians did not know about Ewe lies at the time. The truth only came out later. Ewes and Ga people in Accra even said both Busia and Boakye Gyan were Ashantis. And even as we speak today, they rejected the name Ohene Djan Stadium because they think Ohene Gyan was Ashanti when he is rather Akwapim. Yet they have never tried to change the name Kotoka Airport. Asamoah Gyan, Kwasi Appiah and Kwasi Nyantakyi, Kennedy Agyapong, all attracted hatred because people thought they are Ashantis. And the list goes on and on. You are trying hard to pin everything on Afrifa when it's not so. Please stop the Bono or CIA theory because the Harry and Kotoka or Afrifa were not Americans.

First statement by this man that the coup detat of june 4th is solemn needs to be condemned right away. June 4th was criminal and should be discribed as such. The good people of Ghana for a long time opposed the military government, demanding Democratic rule. We were at the virge of achieving that goal when these criminals forcefully took over power. This act altered the course of the country for ever and has led us to the mess in which we are today. He talks about law and order. Was that coup detat in which he played a pivotal role lawful? Again does his party NDC lead by rawlings, the man who used him and dumped him as trash and killed his brother believe in the rule of law? This guy should be in jail and not a platform to run his mouth. Ghanaians know that he was the architect of the killings of the generals.
